We have not fully decided if we will raise DD in a religious home. I guess I would have an issue with someone pushing deep thoughts/ideas on my daughter that I personally didn't believe in, but in my mind, at this age, religious education is more like character ed (such as love one another and give thanks). I'm open to having some exposure in preschool but he would rather this not happen. We ended up finding a wonderful program for LO to start in the fall, which is located in a church but without the religious teachings. But like you, cost, location and other things are more important. I doubt I could find anything near us that met that criteria. I'm fine with a daycare with no religious affiliation. Where we disagree is how far to take it -- lots of the preschools in our area use church facilities even though they don't have any religious curriculum. I'm okay with this, but DH thinks even that is way too much contact with religious space/things. (I'm an exceedingly lapsed sort-of Catholic and DH is Jewish, we plan to raise our kids "Jewish-ish.")<br /> We are pretty non-religious but were ok with a religious daycare as long as we felt like they weren't really teaching anything we'd find objectionable. Our Catholic daycare is part of a greater social services center staffed partially by nuns, who are all wonderful and loving and so committed to working with women and children. (I freaking love our nuns). And they celebrate Christian holidays and there are paintings/sculptures of Jesus and Mary in the lobby (though not in the daycare area). But there's no religious education in the curriculum or anything, and the kids who attend come from all religious backgrounds. And I've never heard any of the staff talk about religion or phrase lessons/directions to the kids in any way that references religion. I purposefully avoided looking into centers in town based at houses of worship and ended up with an in-home care situation. But I know if things were to change with our current setup we would most likely enroll her at the local Episcopal center because of it's location and reputation. It's the same reason why I work in ministry &amp; for now DH works for a boss that is a bible believing Christian... the envioronment of where we spent the majority of our time helps shape our worldview.</p> <p>That &amp; when G was in pre-school I was also dealing with him not having a father in his life &amp; I wanted the counsel he received on that (when he would act out or start missing his dad &amp; cry at school) to be from a biblical perspective &amp; not worldly....
