We have one of those giant buckets from target as well as those box/cubby things from ikea that hold books and toys in the living room. I think it's like the Montessori philosophy that kids can be orderly if their environment is structured in an orderly way. Each basket has a food group - baked goods, fruits, veggies, meat & potatoes, eggs, and misc. I keep 3 baskets in her fridge, 2 in the freezer and 1 in the stove. I also have a wooden box in her stove that has those little cardboard boxes of food someone gave her. I think having a loose system makes clean up so much easier. Just get some little containers and keep other kitchen supplies in the same general area (shelf for kitchen tools, shelf for baking supplies, shelf for cups/bowls/drinks, etc). I love it bc LO knows how to clean up and keeps it pretty organized day to day.
