Eh, it's not great lately. My eyebrows are really suffering these days. I started tanning again because I feel so icky. Once I lose 10 more pounds, I'll start buying some better jeans and pretty bra's/undies (if I'm wearing cute undergarments, I feel like I can conquer the world). I've given up on mani's/pedi's though. If I'm feeling really down, I'll buy new make-up and a few pieces of clothing...it usually helps!

@PrincessBaby: completely agree!

After the first week or two (and even then I was making sure to take a bath and have "me time" every night)... I showered every day, put my face on, and got dressed (most days)... I just got my hair done this past week (8 weeks pp), and I started working out and eating better as soon as I got the ok at my 6 wk appt.

I love my DS with 200% of me and then some, but that doesn't mean I can't make the time for myself either! IF anything it makes me a better mom when I feel great about myself as a woman; not just as DS' mom.

I've refrained from manicures (at home or at salon) because I've been keeping my nails trim and don't want shellac or polish on when I'm always in such close contact with ds' face/mouth/etc.

I do need to schedule a pedi ASAP! :)

There's def been days that I've lounged around in pjs etc and I found myself falling more into a slump than anything. Slump begets slump? I try to be conscious of that even on days after a horrible night of sleep.

@PrincessBaby: Dude you're tellin me! I actually had to hitch my jeans up a few times today so I told DH I was going on a liquid diet FOREVER (too bad I can't hold myself to that LOL) :)

@cyndistar3: I don't want to look like my mom either! Shit i need to get in gear.

@mrskc: I'll be painting my toes during J's nap today :)

@sarac: I envy your dedication! Honestly my problem isn't so much time as it is just comitting to it. Sure I have less free time but not NONE. Today it starts! :-)

@Lindsay05: LOL my hair is in better shape for the same reason!!!

I have fallen in the upkeep category. I always told myself I wasn't going to fall in that 'toobusyofamomtotakecareofherself' trap but alas, here I am! I still have 10lbs to lose to get back to pre-preg weight, my roots are a couple inches long and my nails look gross. I think my hair is healthier though because I used to blow dry, straighten and wear ponytails for work almost everyday. Now it's down and wavy and no heat on it ever so yay for that! I've currently been upping my exercise and determined to get back at it.

It's always been really good. I think it's crucial not to lose yourself in motherhood, and my beauty routine is non negotiable. I have literally never skipped a shower because of my baby. She can cry for the 10 minutes it takes me to do it. She learned that really early, and thankfully always enjoyed hanging out in the bathroom. Now she'll just stand there and peekaboo with the shower curtain!

I've also taken up jogging lately, which does so much for me. I think we all need to really pay attention to what we need, and to find ways to get it.

It's actually better than before I had two kids! I've never been one to get mani/pedis and I don't get my hair cut all too often but I put way more effort into doing my hair and makeup than I used to. And I actually exercise now because I refuse to be the on who had kids and let herself go, I hate saying it but I don't want to end up looking like my mom.

I haven't had my hair cut since August. It's still falling out on me! I don't do mani/pedis. I got my eyebrows waxed last when I returned to work in mid-November. I need some mommy care!

@babyjmama: oh I hear ya! I last got my haircut in August and a pedi in September. It was a little embarrassing how long it took me to take the old chipped nail polish off. I seriously need to do something with my hair especially before I go back to work I feb. it's so hard to find the time and I don't want to be away from DS.

@hellocupcake: I'm 7 mo PP and feel like it's past time. I need to seriously start caring. One nice thing is I'm letting my hair grow out and I'm getting past the "awkward" stage because I totally don't care ;-)

@hilsy85: I hope you enjoy your time with yourself!!!

@PrincessBaby: Honestly I'm jealous of how much you want to feel like "you" again! At first I thought "she cray-cray!" but the more I thought about it the more I figured that my marriage might be in better shape if I felt better about myself. Every time DH makes an advance at me I push him away because I feel so gross :(

@prettylizy: I think I'll make a hair appt for right before our trip, let my hair grow some more but still have something to look forward to.

@regberadaisy: I'm pretty low maintenance...now. I totally wasn't before I had J though! I think maybe that's why I'm torn about this, poor DH has a very different wife than what he married LOL (not that he'd EVER complain, he hasn't made me feel bad about myself at ALL).

No bc I'm not a high maintenance person and too cheap to pay for manis & pedis.
I do need a haircut before Chinese New Year though!

One thing I refused to give up were my hair appointments post partum. I go every 6-8 weeks without fail. I'm not perfect with my nails anymore, and sometimes I feel frumpy, but I really do look forward to my cut and colour appts.

I am really hard on myself by nature...I don't know why. So while it took a few weeks to not feel like a zombie and having time to pay attention to myself, at 6 wks PP I was ready to start trying to get some of "me" back, which started with eating healthy and exercise. And now at 7.5 wks PP I'm ready to tackle other upkeep, like mani/pedi and I have an appt this week for cut/color.

I love my daughter more than life, but I still need to feel good about myself...It's hard to juggle things for beauty/maintenance, and being a mom, but I seriously think that if I didn't get myself back together soon (and stay together) I would have been flirting with some mild PPD. I have never felt as low about myself as I did PP, even though I have never been as happy about my life. I love being a mom, but I'm still a wife and a woman, and I don't want to lose myself in the whirlwind of parenthood!

I definitely spend less time on myself...I haven't straightened my hair since....November? maybe? I used it do it daily! I am going to go for a haircut this weekend, which I haven't done since June. It's just tough to find the time with LO.

I don't take very good care of myself anymore. I did. I used to get manis/pedis every few weeks, fake bake, got my hair done every 6-8 weeks. Now? Nothing. There isn't any polish on my nails, there is tiny flecks of polish leftover from my last pedicure in September and I haven't had a haircut since august. I really need to start taking care of myself again. Just so I feel better!

Have you fallen off the wagon since your LO was born?
