Southwest apparently doesn't have restrictions of how late you can fly, but any ancillary airlines that work with them can have different restrictions.

My last flight at 32 weeks was pretty miserable though.

We are going on a long weekend when I'm 28 weeks pregnant. I don't plan to fly at all after that.

Awww, sorry she won't let you fly : ( Is there any way that you can drive to be with your family?

It's a no go again with my doctor even though I'm perfectly healthy. I'm tempted to just fly. It's only 2 hr flight, but then I know if something happened, I would not forgive myself. I miss my family and loved to be with them for the holidays :(

Thanks everyone. I'll have to bring it up to my doctor again since I'm feeling fine. I'd love to see my family.

I flew at 33 weeks. Because of all the stress of flying, I ended up with swelling in my joints that made one of my arms go numb! I flipped out and went to L&D and found out it wasn't serious, but it scared me because of blood clot possibilities. So I'd stick by the 32 week recommendation, for sure.

My doctors signed off on me going.

Interesting. I have been considering going to a conference in Las Vegas (I live in NC) in my 32nd week. I'll have to talk to my OB about it. I'm guessing it's all about how you're feeling and if you're healthy enough to travel at that point.

Most airlines say 36 weeks, but require a note from a doctor. So if your doctor won't give you a note, you may not be able to board anyways.

I would listen to YOUR doctor over a pregnancy website since they know you!

Personally I wouldn't fly during my third trimester at all, it would just be too uncomfortable. But I have existing back problems, so I'm special, lol. Hell, I'm nervous about flying tomorrow and I'm only 22 weeks...

Well, some airlines have restrictions or require a note. As for what is safe, you'd have to go with your doctor's advice.

I flew at 32/33 weeks from NY to CA with my first. I mentioned it to my midwife, but didn't get permission or need a note or anything.

As long as things are going fine, I'd make the trip if I were you. I'm a sucker for being with my family for the holidays.

My doctor wouldn't let me go on a plane trip just shy of 36 weeks, but I had pregnancy-induced hypertension that he wanted to make sure didn't turn into pre-e. If not for that, he said he would have been fine with me going.

My OB-GYN is telling me up to 32 weeks, it's safe to fly but I've seen on some pregnancy websites that say up to 36 weeks. I'd love to go see my family for Christmas, but I'll be 33 weeks by then. When was the latest you flew during your trimester?
