@mamabolt: Ha ha, I can sooo imagine this being me!

@Meggo5: You're so right about how baby won't care how ready we are - that will be my excuse if I don't get round to tidying everything properly : )

@zippylef: Ha yep, this will be me!

@birdofafeather: If you're only 28 weeks then you're super organised doing everything now! Even if you leave a few things till Jan, you should be okay : )

i am a planner, but i've been so busy that i am feeling like i'm leaving everything to the last minute... even though i'm only 28 weeks. i have a feeling that a lot of the projects i have in mind will happen in the first two weeks of january before my due date.

side note: @PrincessBaby: i was wondering where you were! i didn't know the name change happened, but i recognized your avatar.

@Travelgirl1: We're due date twins and I have had many of the same feelings/stressors that you are describing! I have been pushing myself way too hard the past few weeks just to get myself feeling "ready." The thing I need to remember is that the baby will not care how ready the house or I are!

For me, the things that are left on the list are to have the car seat inspected at the police department (time permitting), maybe get a haircut, and move some furniture around in the nursery. Since we are Team Green, we have decided to wait to do most of the nursery decoration until after the baby arrives, so we have some blank walls now which make me a bit antsy.

Ah I can't exactly remember, but I know I kept my "last" pre-baby to do list. I have been meaning to dig it out and read what was seemed like it was so important at the time :)

DS is my first and I went into labor 5 days before my due date. (He was actually born 3 days before the EDD.) I was doing lots of walking and acupuncture so that may have helped.

A couple of things I do remember were that I installed the carseat ahead of time, but we ended up having to take it out because on my trip to the hospital I had to lay down in the backseat. Also I totally forgot extra hair bands (KEEP EXTRA HAIR BANDS) and a brush. My hair was a hot mess after 44 hours of labor.

I packed my hospital bag while in labor. But everything else I would say we were mostly ready a week or so before my due date?

@PrincessBaby: You're proper organised! Yeah I know what you mean about what to wear after - I've no idea how big I'll be then!

I am 34 weeks and I am READY for Baby Girl to be here! The only thing I still have to do is figure out my nursing tops/bras so I'll know what I'm wearing after she comes...We're going to have so much family around that I want to look decent but be comfortable and have easy access for BF, and that's really it. DH put together the Snugabunny stuff yesterday, and the only think left on his list is to install the car seat in a few weeks. I have a company car and use it for work all day so we're waiting until the last minute to put the car seat in to free up the room for as long as possible!

I like to have things ready so I've had the nursery completed for ages and all the baby gear we need bought and assembled. Hospital bag has been packed for weeks, car seats installed, etc.

Only things I need to do now is maybe get a haircut, clean out the freezer, and clean the house for all the company that will be coming when the baby is here.

Only about two weeks left!

@London Mama: Wow, really, you moved the week of your due date! You're so much braver than me! You're right about clothes and hospital bag - they're next on my list!

Well, we moved into our new house week of EDD. DS ended up being 12 days late which was a blessing in disguise as we had a bit more time to unpack. Really, newborns don't need much, just wash the clothes and pack your hospital bag and you should be ok.

My hubby found doing repairs and putting together furniture was his way to make himself useful after DS was born, there wasn't much he could do to help as I was nursing most of the time but assembling nursery furniture made him feel like he was contributing!

I was obsessive about having things done by 36/37 weeks, but to be honest, there were still things popping up until the last minute that I had to get done! I never truly felt ready even leaving for the hospital.

We're ten days out and have sooo much to do!!!

We had family staying with us in our one bedroom apartment until the weekend so had nowhere to store a crib/drawers etc ect. Anyway, this week has been spent doing mad dashes around Babies R Us and Ikea after work, buying furniture, getting it deliverd and putting it up. We don't have a car either so had to put the stroller up in the shop to wheel it home : ) The crib we wanted was on sale - score! But they won't have it in for 8 weeks - disaster! Well that's what we get for leaving it so late.

On top of that I'm working up to my c section and have four freelance holiday gift guides to write for a paper - all before baby!

And as for packing a hospital bag? Not even close.

How about you guys? Were/are you more organised than me?
