@thisisme: oh, well that is something then! Hmm.

I don't think it was long at all, it's really hard to tell since you're knocked out! I've been put under twice, and never had any side effects from the anesthesia. I'm the last person to give this advice, but try not to be nervous if you can! Definitely tell them! And I hope they take good care of you!

@TheSwissWifeStyle: Yes, my doctor has told me that polyps increase the risk for miscarriage. I'm having the same surgery on Monday. How long of a procedure was it? Did you have any side effects from the anesthesia. I'm nervous since I've never been put under before... Glad you had such a good outcome! (And I haven't had an appointment yet that I haven't been teary at!)

Again, thanks everyone. I went in for it yesterday, and it was about as pleasant of an experience as you could have. Everyone was really nice, and they even gave me some good drugs that actually worked to calm me down, before the surgery itself! I was still a bit teary, but they took good care of me.

My doctor just called me (9am here, I'm impressed) to see how I was doing and to discuss a bit. He said there were some polyps which he removed, and he left a "good clean cavity." He said the polyps could have been preventing me from getting pregnant. Not sure if they cause miscarriage though? Anyone know the answer to this?

I'll have a follow up with him next week. He said for the next pregnancy he'll treat me with aspirin and progesterone. Guess I won't be going back to the fertility clinic for the time being..!?

I had my hysteroscopy done last week, and it was super easy! I wasn't even asleep. Unfortunately, I have to go back and have it done under anesthesia next week to have some polyps removed.

We're doing IVF, and my doctor said he wanted us to have "a couple of weeks" for me to heal before beginning our IVF cycle.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone. I just want to get it over with! I wonder if he'll find anything. So I'm guessing we'll be on track to try again in February. I'm taking a vacay to visit my parents for most of the month of March, and DH just got a new position and can't go, so that will be a lost month. But at this point, oh well. I think a few weeks of being spoiled at home and laying on the beach will be good for me :)

After both of mine, I was told to abstain from sex for 2 weeks, so I would think you'd have to wait for the next cycle? Good luck! I hope it goes well and they can figure out what to do next!!

@TheSwissWifeStyle: I had a hysteroscopy last fall. I'm pretty sure they told me to wait one cycle before trying again. It was our one last hurrah unmedicated before launching into Clomid and ultimately injectables.

I was out for the hysteroscopy. It was over before I knew it. I think it's a great way to understand more about what's happening inside your body. I hope you get answers that lead to your sticky BFP soon :)

Don't know if this helps but my RE considered doing hysteroscopy for both my IVF transfer and trial transfer, so maybe if there's nothing in there preventing you from TTC you could be cleared right away? Hope it all goes well!

I have had two and wasn't given any instructions about waiting to BD. Sometimes after a surgery you will be put on 2 weeks of pelvic rest to avoid infection. I suppose it all depends on why you are having the procedure and how extensive it will be.

I just found out I will get a hysteroscopy done on Wednesday. (Yikes, now I'm nervous!) Thankfully I'll be asleep for it, in case he finds anything he needs to remedy while in there.

For those who have had one, I'd like to know when you were cleared for TTC? That same cycle? The next cycle?

I'll be about cd 7 when I get it done, so assuming things are finally back normal, I could ovulate a week after.

ETA: I'm having it done to try and find out why I've had 3 losses.

Thanks!
