I ended up going back on Mirena a couple of months post partum. Since it's as effective as permanent measures, we'll comfortable with this for now. I thought I would be done after this last one (our 3rd) but I hate the thought of making it permanent so we've put it off for 18 months and counting. My husband has always said he wants no more than 2 kids, and I've always said "probably 2." So I think after #2 we will probably be pretty anxious to get it done and move on with our lives without having to deal with birth control (which is sort of a big thing because I am opposed to hormonal birth control). (Actually I think this also includes methods like Essure.) </p> <p>We are pretty sure we're one and done and don't want any accidents. I can't even imagine a world where we had two kids. But I see bees sometimes questioning whether they might change their mind about having two, and it makes me wonder if I should give it time. We used to be so sure we didn't want kids that I considered permanent birth control years ago and now I'm glad I didn't do it. </p> <p>So...if you plan on getting this done, how long will you wait? </p>
