I have the chicco liteway, which I adore. It lives in my car. I plan to use it a bit more, but now that my daughter walks, not so much. I don't believe in extended stroller usage.

@Mrs. Pen: Yeah, 45lbs. He's not even a chubby kid! He's super tall and really solidly built.

@Mrs. Sketchbook: Where I live looks more like this:

@zippylef: omg a 45 lb 3 year old?!?

My sister is 8 and a tiny little thing - she'd still fit in a stroller easily!

50 lbs is definitely long enough to get full use out of the stroller! I think you can use a stroller until your child is strong enough to walk at least a mile with you... so 3-4?

@Mrs. Sketchbook: Haha, I had to look up what Doc Martin is. I live on the opposite side of the country from where that show is supposed to take place.

@zippylef: so off topic, but is it just like Doc Martin makes it out to be? And if so, can we switch lives for a minute? Or several?

DD is 4 and still uses an umbrella stroller on occasion. She's 35 lb. I can see her needing it until she stops napping (around 5).

We live in rural England, so we deal with cobblestone streets, uneven pavement, etc. a lot. I'm also a SAHM, so I needed something light and easy to handle. We also wanted a "forever" stroller. We decided on the CityMini, which has the 50lbs weight limit too.

I think it depends on how big your kids is, to be honest. I have a friend who has a 45lb 3 year old.

Ok I have an infant carseat and caddy (Chicco brand), now looking for a stroller to use for...forever? I want something lightweight; we live out in the country and even our basic walk in the neighborhood requires some offroading so we don't use a stroller very often. So something I can keep stowed in my car all the time and that is easy is ideal. I am leaning toward the First Years Jet.

Anyway, the weight limit on this stroller is 50 lbs. Stupid question, but a kid who is 50 lbs is still in a stroller? Isn't that like, a kindergartener?

So, how long do most kids stroll?
