Almost 6 months old. 3-5 wake ups where neither of us fully wake up, I turn around, boob him, and he drifts back off to sleep very quickly.

@Foodnerd81: Thanks..this was night 2 of this (one bad night, one good night, one bad night) so I'm still hoping it was a fluke.

@Running Elley: Hopefully it ends soon... I'd have been freaking out if I had a newborn on the way and dd was doing this. Heck I'm worried about it now!! Glad E started sleeping better before his sister arrived! We just go through these phases.. I think it's happened for about 2+ months before. At 8-9 months and 11-12... I feel like I'm going to lose it if we are starting another month of this!!!

@googly-eyes: My 14 month old went through a phase about 2 weeks ago where that happened almost every night for a week. It was a nightmare!!!

DS, 14 months, usually STTN and has since we sleep trained at 5.5 months excluding teething, sickness, etc. When he does have a MOTN wakeup its a loooong drawn out process. Usually at least an hour.

DD is almost 2 weeks old, wakes up 3ish times per night and its just nursing and a diaper change..30-45 minutes.

I was just thinking of this thread last night. C's wakeups have actually gotten significantly shorter- closer to half an hour from when I pick her up to when I lay back down. Sometimes it takes 10-15 minutes to settle but she can do it on her own.

@googly-eyes: we've had nights like that- it's brutal and all you want is to just lay down and go to sleep! Hope you got some sleep after posting.

@googly-eyes: my 14 month old does this every so often. Last nights wake up was nly an hour. But they've lasted up to 3 hours before! It's funny because when he was an infant he used to go right back to sleep after eating. How times have changed!

He's almost 5 months old and his wake ups last from 40-50 minutes if we're not co-bedding. If he's in bed with me, I just latch him on and go back to sleep. Desperate times, desperate measures :)

My baby went through a magical period from about 1 month old to about 3.5 months where he would get up once or twice, nurse about 5-15 minutes, then go back to sleep. I miss it! For the last month or so, we've been having what I guess is a sleep regression-it's much harder to put him to sleep, he wakes up a lot, then either nurses for 20-30+ minutes or refuses to nurse, then either doesn't go back to sleep or does, only to wake up again 30-90 minutes later! Really hope it's a phase!

I co-bed with our 12 week old (DH works crazy shifts, so he's rarely sleeping at night). She goes to bed at 8:30, wakes up around 11 and stays up until 1230 or so, but I don't really consider that middle of the night since I just started staying up until 1230 most of the time. She sometimes wakes up around 4am, but I kind of just put the boob in her mouth and go back to sleep. The odd time I've stayed awake she was up maybe 10 minutes?? I think it's mostly just a comfort nurse at this point, so I don't bother to burp her or anything since I don't think she's actually eating much most of the time. Then she wakes up again around 8am, and stays up maybe 45 minutes, and goes back to sleep until 1030ish.

@Modern Daisy: wow that's quick!

Funny how it's all over the place. I don't change her during the night but it's easier to let her hang out on the breast until she's really sleeping than risk waking her by moving her too soon. We will sleep train soon enough I guess.

My LO is 9 weeks old and as long as we do a dream feed before going to bed, there are two MOTN wakeups. Our Pedi said we could start skipping the first one, but we tried last night and it was a failure so more to follow on that.

But at least the wakeups are quick. He takes about 10 minutes to eat, then a burp and change gets us back to bed in about 20 minutes total. And he's always gone right back down thankfully!

He is four weeks old and they are about one and a half hours long. Diaper change, 30 min bf, 15 min formula in a bottle, 10 min burping, 25 min pumping afterward. I'm just glad we are down to one or two motn feelings and that he doesn't need to be rocked to sleep!

I'm very fortunate that LO has been sleeping about 8:30pm-6:30am at 10 weeks. When she does get up in MOTN, she only eats 10 minutes. With diaper change and rocking and making sure she is really asleep, I'm up 30 mins. At 6:30am I'm up at least an hour because I have to pump as well, then I go back to sleep for an hour.

S is almost 6wks and wake ups are between 20-60mins depending on how much she eats, if she needs changing and time taken to settle her again.

I wish I had a valid reason to be awake right now! My two LOs are asleep and have very few MOTN wake ups (due to the fact that DS is 20 months old and DD is 3.5 years old! :) ) yet, here I am typing on hellobee at 4:30 am and I've been awake since 1am! I'm 30 weeks pregnant, so I guess this little guys MOTN wake up today has been three hours, though I've been more active than him hahaha Oh the third trimester, how it stinks!

Our LO is only two weeks old. I'm curious to see the answers to your questions. Our ped just told us to start working him toward a day/night schedule. Right now we are feeding every 2-3 hours and between 2-3oz. I can't wait till we are down to just one motn feed. :)

And how old is your Lo? How many wake ups per night?

C is just about 3 months and has been waking up once per night for a while now (usually- sometime more or less but that's average). She usually takes about an hour before I can put her back down. I know she's only actively nursing for maybe half an hour and the rest is comfort nursing to sleep but if I put her down before she really conks out it just harder. And I like her to eat from both sides since I figure she stays full (therefore asleep) longer and I'm more comfortable. But it would be nice to get back into my warm bed sooner!
