@Foodnerd81: @anonysquire: Im tempted to just do it since I've had a nice recovery so far, but I always push myself too hard so I'm trying to take it easy for once lol. Luckily DH is letting me milk it so far :)

Within a couple of days, if that. I had a routine vaginal delivery. My midwife had recommended trying not to lift her up from the floor to up high- like have her stand on the bed for me to lift her over to the changing table, for a few days, but it wasn't a big deal. I tried to limit it in the very beginning but wasn't strict. Like @anonysquire: I actually felt a lot better immediately postpartum than pregnant- I had terrible back pain before.

Same day. Knock on wood, but so far my delivery have been a breeze and I feel much better than I felt while pregnant.

When did you start to lift/pickup older kids after your second (or more) deliveries?

With DD I was told not to life anything heavier than a car seat for a few weeks, but I don't remember the exact time restriction. This time with DS they didn't say anything specific, but I'm going to have a hard time not lifting DD (29 lbs) once DH goes back to work next week!
