Hey there - I'm really sorry you're going through this. I've been through 3, and it gets harder each time.

The first miscarriage, it took me about 3 months to feel like myself again. 6 weeks after it, I was standing on a beach in the Bahamas having an anxiety attack. How the heck does someone have an anxiety attack while relaxing on a tropical island??

I'm 2 months out from my 3rd miscarriage, and just last night, I burst into tears and told my DH that I was having a wave of sadness. It definitely takes time to start to feel normal, so don't think that you're out of the ordinary!

Thanks to everyone who replied. It's definitely good to know that this isn't just me being nuts. Especially since DH just does NOT get the idea that wonky hormones can make a person act like a maniac. He thinks I am just nuts.

First, I'm so sorry for your loss.

I have no advice, but i feel like I could have written this post. I so know how you feel.

I had a mc at the beginning of Oct and my cycles have been wonky. Between the hormones and up and down emotions have just made it hard. Everyone keeps saying it will even out, but its hard to live through it.

@Torchwood: I don't have answers but do want to say you are not crazy  I also had MC in early september and while my cycles are back to normal I certainly am not. I used to have very uneventful PMS, maybe a little back pain and some grumpiness. Now, it's like my body is playing tricks on me. I feel every pregnancy symptom in the book and have constant nausea. Last cycle (my first since the mc) I would have bet my life I was pregnant. I wasn't it was just AF. This cycle, it was a little less severe but just as unnerving. All that to say, you're not alone. And while I'm sorry you've had to go through this I am glad you posted because I feel a lot less crazy! Hugs!!

It took a couple months, and i kept getting pregnant, so i kept going up and down and up and down.

Hormones really jack with your body :( I hope you feel back to normal soon-ish, though.

My miscarriage was different because I had to deliver. I felt like I was back to myself immediately after delivering, which makes me realize how bad that pregnancy was making my body feel. I felt really 'normal' when my period returned a month later. I can tell you that my body really feels like it never has before in two years now. My ankles are skinny again and I'm down to a weight I haven't been to in years. I realized for the first time in two years, my hormones haven't been all over the place.

Short answer: it takes some time. I hope things start to feel normal soon.

I know what you mean. I am only about a month post m/c and still feeling a bit hormonal and physically off. I try to remember what my body has been through.

From my last loss, I was six months and was still having crazy odd cycles and still feeling like I wasn't back to normal but was able to finally get pregnant (which unfortunately ended as well).

Hey there, lady. I'm so sorry you're going through this. I don't really have any answers, but I can say you're not alone! I had a missed miscarriage and waited for it to pass naturally (development stopped at 6w1d, but I didn't start miscarrying until 12w). The physical process started in mid-October, and now my HCG levels are definitely lower than 190 (that was my number at my last blood draw, 10 days ago) but I am still feeling like a total lunatic. I get super anxious for no reason, and I notice my appetite changes on a dime (usually happens at varying times in my cycle).

Also, maybe you and I were having ESP on the dizziness and nausea yesterday, because the same thing happened to me. (Totally random.) I keep telling my husband that I've never hated my hormones so much, ever - mostly because right now, it's just impossible to know what to expect. I will be thinking about you and hoping that all goes back to normal for you so soon!

For those who have had miscarriages, how long did it take before it felt like your hormones settled back to normal (if ever)? I had one in June and a second in late August/early September, and I have just never felt like myself since. My cycles dropped right back to normal 28-30 days, but the pms and other symptoms surrounding them never did. I went from being able to set a timer on when AF would start based on when I felt certain signs around ovulation and afterwards, to everything being completely random. Sometimes my boobs hurt before AF, sometimes after, sometimes midway. Used to be before AF 100% of the time. It took a while for pregnancy feelings to stop too, like I'd continue to get ravenously hungry at weird times for weeks after I was no longer pregnant.

And now that we're TTC again, it feels like my body is screwing around with me even more. I had a random bout of nausea and some dizziness yesterday, and last night I slept 14.5 hours (looong, even for someone who loves sleep as much as me). I also had a random (what I think was) anxiety attack yesterday and almost burst into tears at work for NO reason. But, based on a 28 day cycle, I only ovulated this past Saturday (4 days ago), so clearly none of it means anything. (Other than I could be getting sick, except I feel fine otherwise.)

So does anyone have any input on getting back to normal post-m/c? I suppose anyone who is like me and started TTC again before things settled might only be able to say they never did before they got pregnant again. But any thoughts, even just to say I'm not the only one who feels like they're going nuts, would be helpful.
