I naively expected that that meant my periods were instantly going to be back to normal, but then I got another one two weeks later, and another super heavy one this last time. My cycle didn't settle back in to regularity for just over a year (and I'm pretty sure I wasn't ovulating until that point either). When I stopped taking birth control, my doctor recommended waiting a month before trying to conceive (using another form of birth control during that time). I'm not sure exactly which one I was taking, my insurance would only cover the cheapest generic and it changed from month-to-month, it wasn't low dose though. </p>
