I wasn't charting or TTC at the time, but my dad had brain cancer and I ended up with light periods every time I went home (about every two weeks). I know stress does crazy things. It is really unfair that you have to deal with a weird cycle on top of everything else. I think it is fairly normal for stress and sleep disruptions to play havoc with your cycle - I have had pretty moderate sleep disruptions delay ovulation in my cycle, which is normally like clockwork. If it goes on too long you can always go to your obgyn. I think they can give you a low dose birth control pill to kick start your cycle. My mother was in the hospital for about 3 months and in a coma for 6 weeks back in 2011 and I honestly didn't get a period for 9 months that year. I wasn't on birth control at that time and had always had 28 day cycles. I was just too stressed for it to come. Make sure to get yourself to a counselor if you're needing help. Be kind to yourself. I was nearing ovulation time when my mother passed. I didn't eat or sleep well for a while so I feel like I could've ovulated later (I feel like I ovulated between both of their deaths). I am nearing cycle day 50. I have never been this late before. My pregnancy test came back negative. I stopped charting due to everything that was going on. I don't have any pregnancy symptoms other than frequent urination and not having a cycle. I thought that my cycle was going to start a few days ago, but the cramping stopped.
