@MaryM: Thanks! I will contact the doctor after the new year. This should give me time to adjust since everything has slowed down some.

I'm sorry.

I wasn't charting or TTC at the time, but my dad had brain cancer and I ended up with light periods every time I went home (about every two weeks). I know stress does crazy things.

Will your OB test for low progesterone and maybe prescribe some to kickstart a cycle?

@periwinklebee: @madisonbee: Thanks! It's something that my mom and I talked about a lot, so it's hard to imagine her not being here whenever I get pregnant. :(

I don't really have an answer in terms of what you're going through, but I just wanted to say I'm very sorry about your losses.

I'm so sorry about your losses. It is really unfair that you have to deal with a weird cycle on top of everything else. I think it is fairly normal for stress and sleep disruptions to play havoc with your cycle - I have had pretty moderate sleep disruptions delay ovulation in my cycle, which is normally like clockwork. If you are TTC and the waiting is causing additional stress, your obgyn may be able to bring your period back sooner.

I'm so sorry for your losses. 😢

I don't have experience with this, but I know that stress/eating/sleep disruptions can do a number on your cycle. If it goes on too long you can always go to your obgyn. I think they can give you a low dose birth control pill to kick start your cycle.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. My mother was in the hospital for about 3 months and in a coma for 6 weeks back in 2011 and I honestly didn't get a period for 9 months that year. I wasn't on birth control at that time and had always had 28 day cycles. I was just too stressed for it to come.

Make sure to get yourself to a counselor if you're needing help. Be kind to yourself.

Hi,
My mom suddenly passed away and my grandmother passed soon after. I was nearing ovulation time when my mother passed. I didn't eat or sleep well for a while so I feel like I could've ovulated later (I feel like I ovulated between both of their deaths). I am nearing cycle day 50. I have never been this late before. My pregnancy test came back negative. I stopped charting due to everything that was going on. I don't have any pregnancy symptoms other than frequent urination and not having a cycle. I thought that my cycle was going to start a few days ago, but the cramping stopped.
