We moved into our new home in November, so we had a nearly 2.5 yr old and a 9 month old (no dog though!). We had all of our stuff from here, plus our large shipments of furniture and boxes that had come over from Australia and the US, plus all of the new furniture and appliances we'd had to buy here and store until our move in date. It was mayhem!</p> <p>My mom came over for a few weeks to help us unpack/watch the girls whilst we unpacked, and it still wasn't until Christmas (about six weeks later) that the house was starting to feel somewhat less chaotic, albeit not quite as organised as I'd like.</p> <p>We're now nearly ten months in and have done a lot of work on the house so we're still not fully settled in/organised, but we're getting there! We started unpacking right away but didn't really fully unpack until three weeks in. Because our new house was much bigger than our old one, we bought new furniture and got it about a month and a half in. There is still packing paper from the movers in a few of my dresser drawers! I've accepted that it will probably be another month before I feel like it's mostly done - but at this point it is livable and I do feel at home.
