awwwwww, big big big hugs to you. Honestly I know exactly how you feel. I lost all but 5 lbs in the first month, and I didn't lose that last 5 lbs until I went back on WW about a year later, but even after losing at 5 lbs my body still did not look the same or fit into any of my pre-baby clothing. Everything was soft and pudgy and I had so much extra skin around my belly area that never ever tightened up.

I was severely anti-plastic surgery before but now I'm seriously considering a tummy tuck and laser treatments for my stretch marks in my late 30s! :)

I'm really excited to be done with this pregnancy so I can really buckle down and get my body back into shape once I'm done with kids. We'll do it together!!!!!!

I lost all the baby weight in about 2 weeks and at a month I am below my pre-pregnancy weight, but the way my body looks does not make me happy. I am plus-sized, but didn't have any 'weird' areas before, I was proportional, and didn't have hangy-rolly areas before. Now I have a floppy weird belly that hangs strangely that I am not a huge fan of, and my breasts are droopier than ever (they went from a F pre=pregnancy to an H/I cup depending on how full they are). My DH knows I am not a fan of the loose skin issue, and promised me a tummy tuck and breast lift once we are done having babies.

I was back at my pre-pregnancy weight around 13 weeks pp but things aren't the same!!! Since I hadnt worked out at all since giving birth, things aren't the same cause I'm flabby now vs somewhat toned before. I just started 30 Day Shred yesterday and hope to work back towards a somewhat recognizable body. I stare at the mirror and wonder about my reflections sometimes. Love that I have LO to show for it but it still does a number on the ego. Only another month until beach season. *sigh* Hang in there and it'll happen!

Oh I also EBF and I think that helped me shed it. I ate pretty healthy but didn't exercise at all until this week.

I think it is so different for everyone. Some of my mom friends lost all the weight with breastfeeding but struggled with weight gain when they weaned. Others held onto the weight throughout breastfeeding and lost it after they weaned.

I was one of the ones that lost all my baby weight by 3 months and I'm so scared I will gain weight once I wean. LO is 6 months now

I'm at 8 months and still working on it. And I mean I am seriously working on it. Personal training, strict diets, walking my baby for miles everyday. It's the most frustrating thing in the world that I am working so hard and nothing is happening.

I'm 7 weeks pp and I'm still working on it also. I'm having a really hard time with the extra weight also. I expected to still be carrying around some extra at this point, but what really gets to me about it is feeling so helpless about getting it off. Like you, I've been exercising and eating right to try to get rid of it and it's just not happening. It's very discouraging to say the least, and if I think about it too much, I get really upset. I feel so terrible that you wound up so upset because I know that exact feeling, and it's awful. I'm holding on to the hope that it'll all come off once I stop BF. But then again, I plan on doing it long term so that doesn't really make me feel any better right now.

LO is 10 months and I'm still well above my prebaby weight. But I've been through so much (weaning off meds made me gain weight, pregnancy and miscarriage, another pregnancy, can't exercise due to migraines, etc.) so I know there's not much I can do about it, but hope I start feeling well enough to work out again.

I wish I could hug you! I have always struggled with body image so I understand the pain you feel. You will lose the weight eventually, but you just have to remember your body doesn't define you and that body of yours did something nothing short of a miracle.

I am 2 weeks PP and have lost all the weight, but am still much wider and flabbier. My weight is only low because I have lost so much muscle.

I have lost all of my pregnancy weight but my body is nowhere near the same as it was pre-pg. I would say that being at my fittest before getting pregnant helped a lot.

I also fully took advantage of the idea that BFing helps you lose weight so I have been eating really poorly...and 3 months post-pg I am realizing that I really can't eat crap all day while BFing.

Hang in there and just keep doing what you're doing and try not to stress about it too much. Often stress is what keeps those extra pounds on.

I had gotten back to my first pregnancy weigh in (at 6 weeks) by around month 10? Then I made the mistake of going to Texas for a week to visit my inlaws. They have 3 fridges, a huge pantry and I ate like a cow! Had root beer floats every night and gained about 5lbs. -.-
Those 5 pounds would not go away! Now I'm pregnant again and I've packed on an additional 3-5lbs. :P

*hugs* I know how much it sucks to be in a dressing room when you aren't happy with your body. Before I got pregnant I gained close to 30 lbs between getting a desk job after college and going through fertility treatments. Then with my pregnancy I gained another 45 lbs. I was lucky and lost 35 lbs in the first 6 weeks. I'm now 8 weeks pp and have about 5-6 lbs to go for the baby weight. But then I still want to lose at least another 20-25 lbs after that.

It took time to put weight on, it will take time to get it off. You will get there!

@Coco Bee: I know! Trying on bathing suits has been known to depress me even when I'm in shape, thanks to the boobies.

With my first I gained 45 lbs and only lost 20. I had to wear my maternity swim suit that summer. Then I got pregnant again (while nursing, so who knows if that's why I couldn't lost weight?) and gained 30 and I've already lost all but 3 lbs(!) at almost 4 months pp. I'm just hoping I keep losing weight. I look at photos from before I had kids and I want to smack my previous self for thinking I was at all overweight, I would kill to have that figure back!

I have a family reunion in a month and I have no idea what I will wear at the beach...that maternity suit is getting a bit worn out.

Erm, I think I'm losing weight faster because I was on a crappy elimination diet for the past month. Sad, but effective (also clearing up little A's eczema...which would be the point...)

We don't have a scale at home so I only weigh myself at LO's checkups. We hope his number goes up and mine goes down :) I gained almost 50lbs with LO At his 4 month checkup, I finally got down to my pre-pregnancy weight. Thank you breastfeeding! I fit into all my jeans, and my stomach is flatter. Not completely flat (when I sit i definitely see a bunch of fat that is sticking around!) but way flatter than before!

In the beginning, I definitely felt like you. I thought I would lose most of large weight gain in the first two months, and I was discouraged every time I tried to find something to wear. It will come off though! You just have to stay positive...just like breastfeeding.

Just remember that YOU HAD A BABY! Your body will do what it is supposed to :)

@Coco Bee: I had gained about 8 lbs and I lost it all after I delivered. It was weird how fast my body went back to 'normal'. We got the all clear to start trying again, so we are hoping to get a BFP soon. It is hard since hubby works out of town, but hopefully we will catch the right timing.

@Coco Bee: I did lose a bunch of weight initially when I started breastfeeding. But I felt like my body held onto a good 10 pounds for a long time. My clothes never fit right and I was too depressed about my body to go shopping. Maybe I was eating too much to compensate for calories lost while breastfeeding or maybe my body just needed to hold onto the weight.

It took me 6 weeks to lose all of the weight I gained but I still have all kinds of flab that won't budge! I am going swimming tomorrow and I might wear a tank top into the water since I don't own a tankini yet!

If I could hug you, I would! I'm sorry that you are feeling this way. I don't really have any advice to give you, just hugs and support.

Or close to losing all of it...

I am 13 weeks pp and have only lost 19 lbs (which was within the first month, naturally). I started working out consistently starting at 6 weeks and haven't lost 1 lb since. It's so frustrating! I still have 16 lbs to lose and don't fit into any of my clothes. My stomach looks awful and I only have a few shirts I can wear that hide it adequately.

I was trying to swimsuit shop today and ended up in the dressing room crying while my husband held me. I've never actually hated my body ever, I've always wanted to lose weight, but never hated it. Now, I actually hate it.

I feel like my weight loss efforts are futile and it's so discouraging. It's hard to keep up the motivation to keep working out.
