Exactly the same as @NovBaby1112: when we nap trained at 13.5 months. It was SUPER fast.

We also nap trained at 5 months, and that took about 2 weeks I think. So hang in there!

It took 1 nap and crying for 5 minutes at around 9/10 months old for LO to be nap trained. We tried several unsuccessful attempts prior to that but it just never clicked and I was too weak to hear her cry during the day. I think she was just finally ready when it clicked.

And he just woke up after 30 minutes when he cried for 40. Sigh.

@rahlyrah: Keep with it!! He gets it. I agree with JoJo nap training is even harder. I would give it a couple more days.

@JoJoGirl:  No.  Checks=hysterics.

I kind of just want to say screw it and let him nap on me like he wants. :(

@rahlyrah: Yikes. Yeah that sounds about right. Are you doing checks?

ETA: FWIW, nap training took us longer than bedtime training. It would have killed me to listen to that much crying too. I'm sorry, mama! :(

@JoJoGirl: It's been 2.5 hours after he awakes in the morning and then 2.5-3 hours after he wakes from his first nap. I know he is sleepy because he starts to fall asleep during his bottle. Once I lay him in his crib all hell breaks loose.

Are you putting him down too early? My LO cries if she's not quite tired enough yet to sleep. I let her cry for usually 10 mins then go get her, play for 30 mins, and try again. Once I know she CAN fall asleep without crying, I usually will assume crying = not ready to nap yet.

Today is day #5 of nap training and I'm at a loss. Things are getting worse and I don't understand it. Here is how our naps have looked so far this week:

Monday: -Nap 1- cried for 40 minutes then slept for 2 hours
-Nap 2- cried for 5 minutes then slept for 1.5 hours

Tuesday: -Nap 1- cried for a minute then slept for 1.5 hours
-Nap 2- no tears/slept for 1.5 hours

Weds- -Nap 1- cried for 30/slept for 30
-Nap 2- cried for 10/slept for 2 hours

Thurs- -Nap 1- cried for 35/slept 30
-Nap 2- cried for 35 and then worked himself into such hysterics DH went and got him. Napped on DH about 30 minutes later for 1.5 hours (but fought the nap)

Today- So far he has been crying for 35 minutes.

I don't understand. Why is it getting worse? Is this normal? It kills me to hear him cry so I don't know how much longer I can do this. :(
