Still in the process. He is 100% trained for pee but does not like to poop in the potty. It's been 2 months now and he waits to poop in nighttime/nap diaper or will poop in his underwear. Only way he will poop in the potty is to leave him completely bottomless. I don't know what his hang up is but I'm hoping it will just click for him eventually (hopefully sooner rather than later).

Started potty training in June (right before he turned 3) and he's still not there - 50% of the time he poops in the potty, the other times he still goes in his undies. We use small prizes to motivate but it just hasn't clicked fully yet.

ages. AAAAAGGGGEESSS. I'm talking like a whole year of consistent potty training ages. She finally did it about a month ago - aged 3. One day it just clicked, she wasn't wearing any bottoms, she desperately had to poop and the choice was either in the potty or on the floor. If you do it in the potty, mama is going to take you to the toy shop!! she's managed to do every pee/poop in the potty or toilet since then, except the other day when she accidently did it in her pants at my mum's place - she closed her eyes and said she was ashamed she pooped herself and please change me. so sad!

she held her poop and/or missed the potty (aka right next to it) the first couple days. Then for a couple days she waited for her pullup. After about a week she started pooping in the potty but would still get scared after it happened. it took about 2 weeks for her to be comfortable with it and regularly pooping on the potty.

@BlueWolverine: well that worked out well! Yea I am nervous about her holding it and getting constipated so I've been trying to give lots of watered apple juice.

@autumnlove: hmm yea, she refuses to wear a diaper during her nap or night and now only wants to wear her undies, so I am not sure what to do about it!

@KT326: we are already using jelly beans as a motivator for poop! lol...the first day of PTing she went poop on the potty (albeit a very little amount) and we made a big deal and she got a few jelly beans. The nest day she actually did a normal size poop and I thought after that we would be good, but then she didn't really go for 2 days

@hilsy85: @oliviaoblivia: I would love it if it only took that long! It's hard not being home with her and being able to watch her like a hawk to catch her in act. I will tell her teachers to keep a very close eye on the whole pooping thing to see if that helps...

@CarrieLouWho: oh wow, so what did you do in the meantime? did she just poop her undies every day or go in a pullup?

Um... Daycare started potty training in April and DD finally got it on a regular basis by late July/August. So it took 3-4 months for us.

On the third day she pooped in the potty while I was upstairs putting baby sister to nap. Never looked back.

About 3 days. We just had to catch him as he needed to go and put him on the potty and it clicked pretty quickly.

It took about a month for DS to get it. He was so used to standing up to poop it was hard for him to do it sitting. We also started using gummy bear incentives after about two weeks of dealing with poopy underwear. That was a great motivator for him!

It took LO 1 about 3-4 months to get comfortable with pooping in the potty. She saved her #2s for her nap/night diapers until then.

We started potty training LO 2 last week and poop is the only thing that is consistent!

It took her about a month. I think she had a constipated poop during potty training boot camp weekend that made her afraid of pooping in the potty. She just went in her undies almost every day. We had a breakthrough when we were at a restaurant, of all places. She didn't want to go in her panties in public and she really had to go, so the restaurant potty is was. Been great ever since.

We are currently potty training LO who is 2.9yrs. She is really getting the whole pee thing down quickly. But as far as pooping goes, she only seems to go a veryyyy tiny bit in the potty, not a normal size poop, or she just doesn't go poop at all. Today she went poop in her underwear at school, which I was nervous about since she hasn't had a normal poop in 2 days.

How long did it take during potty training for your LO to go on the potty regularly for #2?? Just not sure what to expect here!
