There are hospitals closer, but I really liked the hospital near my office, which is further away. My OB's office is across the street from my hospital so I time how long it takes me every week I go in lol. The main street to the hospital is ALL pot holes! Really, the bumpiest ride. There was a closer hospital (45 mins.) but I wasn't comfortable with the standard of care/amenities there. Fortunately, even though my water broke, my contractions didn't really get going on their own, so I had no major discomfort on the trip.</p> <p>@Hanasu: Our little town had a hospital that didn't deliver babies either! And there wasn't even a gynecologist in town. I originally was going to deliver at the closest one, but after several bad experiences with the doctor, I switched to a doctor out in the 'burbs and now the hospital is 20 minutes outside of town.
