I'm also 4 weeks past my c section and same as you, still bleeding red, not a ton but enough that I need a pad. I asked my midwife last week and she said 4-6 weeks was to be expected, and the colour didn't matter (I was worried that it should not be red at this point) as long as I wasn't soaking pads in a few hours or having clots. After my first c section I think it was at least 6 weeks before the bleeding totally stopped.

Total opposite for me

I bled for 2ish weeks after my first which was induced and resulted in a csec after 24 hours. I was definitely out of maxi pads by the first week and barely any pantyliners by the second week.

My second was a vbac and I bled heavy for two weeks, and needed pantyliner until my six week appt.

I bled lightly (less than a period) for only two days. However, I had a CS after 80 hours of labor; I kinda wonder if the extended exposure to all that oxytocin is the reason.

I bled for just 2 or 3 weeks the 1st time, and not much really. I was using regular maxi pads by the time I got home, and using just panty liners by week 3, I think. It was an emergency c-section situation. 2nd time-- scheduled repeat c-section. I bled for 5 weeks the 2nd time. Much more heavily, and somewhat off and on. Which surprised me after how little I bled last time. I really thought the bleeding I had the 1st time was normal-- but nope. The 2nd time was more "normal".

It's been four weeks since my c-section and I'm still bleeding bright red. It's not a terrible amount, but definitely enough that I need to use pads.

I was never told how long I should expect to bleed, but feel this has been longer than it was with my first LO (a vaginal delivery).

I don't think I'm really overdoing it in terms of activity either. I pick up my 3 yo only once or twice a day to get her in/out of the car at school and I am lifting the baby seat in and out as well. Aside from that, I've just been doing normal housework and errands.

Is it to be expected that the (still red) bleeding would last this long?

Also, if it makes any difference -- I was induced and went through the full labor process until it was time to push, at which point the plans changed to needing a c/s.
