Theoretically I could totally be off formula and exclusively pump for him now that he's on solids and his milk intake is going down, but he's so much more active now and we can actually go do stuff together so I'm looking forward to weaning. I've gone from 4 pumps at 30 minutes a day down to 3 pumps at 22-25 minutes each time and hoping to wean off slowly over the next month or two. I stopped at a year because I WOH full-time and didn't want to keep taking pump breaks past that. I stopped bc I got the flu and my supply tanked....my heart wasn't in it anymore to power pump/take pills/drink teas etc to boost it back up. It was a good "out" for me and we just transitioned to formula full time. I'd had to quit breastfeeding at about 2 months so I was EPing for 2 months. I was a SAHM and LO had a lot of eating issues. She'd recently been diagnosed with MSPI and reflux and she was also headed into the 4 month regression. Pumping was getting harder to do because I was home alone all the time with her (DH works full time and goes to school at night) and she was needing to be rocked for naps so I couldn't pump when she was sleeping and when she was awake she'd cry if I couldn't tend to her. Plus I wasn't sleeping at night due to the 4 mo regression and her needing to be held half the night and the lack of sleep made my already crappy supply of 18oz/day plummet to 10 oz/day. It just got to the point where I felt like I was killing myself and making myself and my LO miserable for 10 measly ounces per day. I have to make it a priority at work, otherwise I get swept up in other things and forget to pump. A few weeks ago I was down to my last bag of milk from my freezer stash and freaked out that I'd have to start him on formula (which is fine, but it's my goal to EBF until 1). I made a priority to pump 3x a day at work and schedule it on to my calendar as "busy". It's a priority for me so I make it work.
