Just stopped last week at nearly 5 months, but now we're using the Merlin Magic Sleep Suit. Which I recommend to EVERYONE. OMG it's amazing and our twins have both slept through the night consistently since we started in them. I was terrified of swaddle weaning, but these made it a piece of cake!

DD did not like being swaddled, although it did help her sleep better early on. We stopped at 3.5 months when she was really fighting it, and she immediately started sleeping through the night as soon as we dropped the swaddle. Needless to say, we have never looked back.

We stopped at 5 months which is also when we tried to sleep train. That was a big fail but we just dropped the swaddle since he was getting to the point where he was starting to roll in it.

We swaddled DD until she was 6ish months, she was ready by then to be on her own. I just waited for her to show signs of readiness. I would have swaddled until she was 2 if it helped with sleep!

still swaddling at 3.5 months! she's finding her hand and breaking out from time to time (miracle blanket!) but still sleeps so well with the swaddle. we have the halo swaddles, so once she shows signs of flipping back to tummy or has a sleep regression, then we'll try to swaddle wean.

Still swaddling at 10 weeks. I'm afraid to wean! She sleeps so well I don't want to mess with it! She isn't rolling yet but I have a feeling that our pedi is going to suggest weaning at our 3 month visit. I can't imagine sleep sacks are going to give her the same secure feeling.

We're still swaddling at 12 weeks. We have tried going without but he will be exhausted and not fall asleep. He hasn't mastered sucking to self-soothe and is still very much uncoordinated so trying to get his fingers in his mouth is too distracting. I expect this will change very soon and would like to stop swaddling him because it makes it too difficult to get him to take naps anywhere other than home. He is also not rolling yet.

We are going to sleep train/move him from the rock n play in our room to his crib in his room in a couple of weeks, once we get through the daycare adjustment, and I'm considering swaddle weaning at that time too, just to get it all out of the way at once... am I insane? ;)

We swaddle weaned at 4.5 months. DS loved being swaddled and couldn't sleep without it. He learned to roll long before we weaned. He would never roll in his sleep while swaddled so it wasn't a problem. We decided to wean because he rolled over while swaddled one day when I went to get him up from his nap. I flipped him over to see if he would do it again and he did! We weaned cold turkey that night and switched him to a sleep sack.

our pediatrician recommended to stop swaddling at 3 months. i didn't bother asking why because i was happy to swaddle wean. i never liked the idea of her being so "restricted". we weaned her at 10 weeks cold turkey. figure we had to do it some time anyway so minus well get it over with!

Our pediatricians don't recommend swaddling after three months, so we weaned then (transitioned to Halo swaddle sacks then sleep sacks). She was rolling over during her sleep at 4 months.

We swaddled til 3.5 months. She learned to roll back to belly at that time so it was time to go. It also coincided with the 4 month sleep regression. Ugh!!!

I stopped shortly after my babe learned to roll, although I don't think there was any danger to her rolling in the swaddle... that's a whole other skill set. BUT I know the nanny swaddles her for naps, which I don't have a problem with. She even "swaddled" my two year old for his naps until very recently, hahaha. So maybe we are living dangerously but I feel OK about it because she pretty much keeps an eye on them.

I've heard so many conflicting opinions about swaddling!

I was just talking with a friend this weekend and she opened my eyes to the fact that swaddling is bad when your LO can roll over in his/her sleep.

That's really a bummer, because DD loooves being swaddled! My friend gave me some sleep sacks to help wean her when the time comes, though.

What have your experiences been?
