I'm lazy and doing pouches a few times a week to get more veggies in him. We don't cook enough veggies in a form that I'm comfortable with him eating so this is my way around it. It's the only puree he still gets at 13.5 months and I'm fine for now.

5.5 months to 7.5 months tops. She wanted what we had so I then had to donate 100+ jars of baby food.

My 10.5 month old has been entirely on table foods for a while, but I think it just depends on the baby.
LO developed the pincer grasp about two months ago and has pretty much just wanted bite-sized pieces to feed himself since then. We spoon-feed him baby oatmeal (with pieces of fruit) for breakfast because his iron level was low at his last pediatrician appointment.

I've tried giving him pouches because they seem like they could be convenient on the go, but he is only mildly interested. I'm not sure he's ever finished one. We tend to do cheese, blueberries, and puffs when we're out because they're not too messy.

16 months and she still gets them a lot. Only way to get her to eat veggies. Also easy to take to day care for snacks or lunch when she won't eat what they serve. She so picky.

We did BLW so he's never really had jars/pouches. Only the odd one on the go. Now when I try to give him one (13.5 months) he usually just spits it out haha

Hm. Around 10/11 months we quit with the jars on a regular basis. We still use them from time to time in desperation of a quick dinner and we still occasionally use the pouches as well for quick snacks or if he WILL NOT eat dinner, I KNOW he will eat one of those pouches.

We never really used jars because I made most of DD's food, but pouches have been an absolute lifesaver for us. DD is 18 mo and gets about 3 pouches per week - mostly for snacks or to get some vegetables into her when she is having a "I only eat carbs and eggs" kind of a week... Le sigh.

A thought - if you want to get away from store-bough foods and are looking to integrate more flavors or foods into LO's diet, maybe try smoothies or pureed soups through a straw cup? DD *loves* her green smoothies and *I* love that she is eating her spinach.

We did blw so she's been primarily on table food since 6 months, but the pouches are still a good way to get her some extra veggies or for meals on the go. I almost never do them at home, but when we are out it's a lot easier to give her one that hand her one green bean at a time for her to throw on the ground. Typical meal while we are out is cheese stick and fruit/veggie pouch. She is one. :)

I think you are doing just fine. My LO didn't even want anything to do with solids until 10 months! He is 14 mo now and at home we do all table foods. I still give him pouches once a day or so when we are out of the house and more often if we are traveling.

I think they are great for getting protien and veggies into LO. I don't buy the fruit ones they have sooo much sugar in them.

We just gave DD (18 months) pouches on vacation because she wasn't interested in most of the meals we had, but aside from that we switched to table food really early. She was on table foods only by nine months.

Around 14 months, we 100% dropped the pouches. Except for applesauce. We would do them on the go, but table food at home. Now it's almost all table food, but I gave her a pouch and some baby food this week on vacation. She still likes the baby food when her teeth hurt. When she was almost a year, i would give her table food, then top her off with a pouch and that went on for a couple months

The earlier thread by @Foodnerd81: and comments my parents keep making about how LO should be on 100% table food by now, lead me to ask when you guys stopped using pre-made pouches or jars? The odd one for snacks or out and about don't count, but I guess I mean for the majority of meals...

LO is 10.5 months and still has pouches most meals. We are trying to introduce more table foods but she's not as keen.
