I don't think we will stop using until she's at least 2.5? In the morning she often doesn't want to take it off, so she ends up walking around in it until it's time for her to get dressed. She is amazingly adept at walking in a sleep sack. She can move very fast, and I've never seen her trip or fall down while wearing her sleep sack! Hubby worries about DD getting hot, but she's the one reminding us to put her in it. I have a feeling it'll be closer to 2.5 years b/c he is taller than his older brother at the same age. It has really kept my boys from climbing out. She was pulling to stand in the crib, getting her legs tangled and the face planting into the rails. I tried again when she was older (and it was winter) but she broke out of the ones we had and despite being above the height and weight on the A&A one I bought got her arm stuck through the neck hole in the middle of the night. I have a lovely collection of barely used sleep sacks. Hopefully future babies like them more. She walks in it just fine. Now that it is getting warmer, we may go without, but I think DD likes the sleep sack. I think it helped dissuade both of them from climbing out of the crib and it also aided with bedtime cues. I think it's especially important now, as it keeps him from trying to climb out of the crib! He's happy standing and walking around the crib in his sleep sack, so it doesn't bother him. In the summer we'll just regulate his room temperature so he's comfortable. When she was 15 months, the weather turned cool and I know she can't sleep with a blanket, so I bought her the ones with the feet open bc her sleep sack was getting too small for her. It was perfect bc I knew she was warm. We forgot to take them when we visited my parents' house, and she slept just fine without them. So we just stopped using them. She was standing already and started walking a month later. Now we just do big kid style pajamas or footed sleep n plays for cooler nights. He started to use a blanket at daycare for naps a couple weeks ago so I'm hoping we can just transition to blankets soon instead of buying more sleep sacks...I love them but it's gotten expensive buying the next size up every so often. And we were gifted so many blankets that we have never used.
