I know we'll tell our parents right away. I will also probably have to tell my coworkers/boss right away because of the nature of my job.</p> <p>Friends I'm undecided on. I thought about waiting until we were in the safety zone. But at the same time, if something happens, (God forbid), it would be really nice to have their support, or at least have them be aware of things so they didn't say something hurtful without meaning to. DH told his coworkers after we heard the heartbeat last week (he was really super excited). We were mostly waiting for the holiday to announce it. Once we have the NT scan at 12 weeks and we feel comfortable, we'll start to share with close friends and the rest of the family. I don't think I'll announce it on FB or anything until much closer to our EDD. My sisters wedding happened when I was 7 weeks and it leaked through the crowd as the night passed. I facebooked about it at like 25ish weeks. We told a few select people but waited to tell most family &amp; friends until after the 8 week ultrasound. At that point they say things are 95% probably okay. I waited until 12 weeks to tell a few people at work. Shortly after, found out the baby had no heartbeat. Told his fam on Thanksgiving since it was not too far away. </p> <p>We didn't do anything cute to tell them the initial news. But when we found out it was twins, we just called and said we wanted to stop by and show them the ultrasound picture - which showed 2 babies :) That bit of surprise was pretty fun.</p> <p>We told extended family at Christmas, around 10 weeks, after seeing heartbeats 3 times. I work at a Catholic school and most of the teachers there figured out about a week or two weeks after that. We went 'public' with the news after we saw the heartbeat in our 8th week. Right now, we are in our 11th week. We go back on February 1st for our next appointment. I know some don't tell as early, but for us it just worked out to do it that way. This is my first pregnancy and I have only told my sister and my husband told his brother. It has been so hard to see my family lately and not be able to tell them.
