My body had started the miscarriage and the dr prescribed 4 pills to be taken vaginally to help it finish. We waited about 4 months after our miscarriage to try again. Most of it was because I wasn't emotionally ready. My doctor said to wait one full cycle. I didn't have a D&amp;C since I miscarried naturally and everything came out. (TMI!) My doc wanted us to wait until I had two periods, so two cycles. The first period would show that my body was functioning like it was supposed to. And the second one would allow us to see how long my cycle was so that we had an idea if my cycle had returned to normal or was long.<br /> I was fortunate in that I got my first period 4 weeks after my D&amp;C (it can take 8 weeks or longer to get your first period!), and then my second period 4 weeks after that. So that was 8 weeks- two months- and we started trying the next cycle. My miscarriage was an early one. I miscarried in the beginning of May, had a verrrry long cycle thereafter but finally got a period towards the end of June. Then, we started trying again. I'm considered high risk since I am diabetic, and the perinatal ob-gyn said to wait 2 full cycles after we MC'd. I was too distressed about the MC to question that at the time, but I have an appt with my regular ob-gyn in about 2 weeks and am hoping that he'll say 1 month is fine. I don't know if I am emotionally ready to try again yet; however, I want to be able to when Hubs and I decide that we are ready. </p> <p>How long did you wait to try again? How long did it take you to get pregnant? </p>
