He never really liked rice cereal, so we only did that for a few days. But he had at least one meal of oatmeal each day from 6 months to about 8.5 months, when he decided he was too "cool" for purees. We did finger foods while he was still getting the oatmeal. He just eventually hit the point where he didn't want to be fed, only wanted food he could feed himself. Now at 10 months, I have to put yogurt on the spoon and then hand the spoon to him so he can feed himself. Stubborn kid!

Lainey likes oatmeal, so at 9 months she still gets it at least a few times a week!

Just a couple of days. She didn't like it at all so I wanted to switch. But she didn't have chunky for awhile, she would gag so easily.

if you started your LO on rice or oatmeal cereal, how long did you keep up with it? LO is almost 6 months and we started him on a mixture of oatmeal cereal, puree and formula, but i'm not sure how long i want him to stay on it before going to chunky purees (we're also doing some BLW, but just at home because daycare won't do it).
