DD has been napping in her crib since around 9 weeks or so. We put her in a sleep sack. We get about 1 hour of sleep at a time.

Meee! Definitely past 3 months... I don't remember till when! I think it was a mish mosh... Some days we'd hold her, some days she'd be fine being put down after she falls asleep.

At 14 mo we still hold her (but only for like 2 min) then put her down :silly:

He never really napped on me, I put him down a lot from the beginning. But we did have a few days around wonder weeks where he had to nap on me. But I'd say that was completely over by 8-10 weeks?

@Dahlia: yes, i think you can work towards naps in the crib slowly. that's what we did. and until then enjoy the snuggles. :)

10 months old and she either naps on me or on the go. She's great at night so I put up with her crappy nap habits. It used to stress me out, but I love when she sleeps on me and I know it won't last forever so I will do it as long as it works for the both of us. When it stops working, we will figure it out! :)

Until somewhere in the 7th month, then we sleep trained for naps (we'd sleep trained for night at 6 months). It was really rough, but she got it after a few days. But then once she dropped to 1 nap at 12 months I realized she'd nap much longer (and be happier) if I let her sleep on me after her inevitable 1 hr wakeup so we did that again for 2 months until she decided she was over sleeping on me.

@jhd: She'll nap in the car or the carrier pretty reliably, and she's at daycare for some of her naps (and there she'll sleep in the crib!). I was just feeling bad about it because some friends and my mom couldn't believe I would still let her nap on me. I think I'll enjoy the cuddles while they last and start working towards the crib slowly.

I wore DS for all of his naps until 8 months. That's when i couldn't take it anymore because he was so damn heavy! It took 45 minutes of crying for one nap, and boom, he was taking better naps in the crib than in the ergo!

My LOs (twins) took most of their naps on me until 8 months. At that point I was just tired of spending all day in their room trying to keep them sleeping, so I nap trained them. I will say, though, that at 21 months I still nurse them all the way to sleep and when DH was home for 2.5 weeks over Christmas we held them for a lot of naps. We just like the cuddles.

Off and on maybe until 5-6 months!
I would start trying for 1 nap a day in crib
Baby steps!

Me! I think LO was 10 or 11 months before we got two reliable naps in the crib each day. I don't say that to stress you. We also dealt with some health concerns that set us back on sleep schedules. Will your LO nap in the car seat or stroller? We had a few car and stroller naps at times when he was on a three or four nap schedule and I just wanted to get out of the house!

My LO is 6 months and still mostly naps on us. We sleep trained a few weeks ago and she got nights straightened out pretty fast but getting her to nap in the crib is still a disaster unless we get the timing precisely right (like, within 2 minutes of a magical, mythical sweet spot of no too tired not under tired). I think we've decided it's too stressful on all of us and are going to keep the naps on us or in the carrier for now.

Any other suckers that let their baby nap on them past the newborn stage?
