Three weeks. My mom was here helping and she took a night shift so I could get some sleep. She said she didn't want to wake me up coming into my room to put LO down so she was going to put her in the crib. She slept great there and we slept better not waking up at every little noise so we kept it up from there.

Once she was STTN we moved her into her room at 2 months, and she had two really great nights. That was followed by two really awful nights where I had to keep trekking across the house. I moved her back in with us, and she went right back to being an awesome sleeper. I think I'll try again after this WW though.

6 months, and he slept in our bed until then. Our bed's not big enough to co-bed indefinitely, though, and he's a very active sleeper (and a bed-hog). He definitely sleeps longer and better in his own space (although we've been dealing with a really ridiculous sleep regression the past few weeks). He woke up more frequently when we co-bedded, but most of the time all I ever had to do was help him latch on to me. Now I have to get out of bed to tend to him, although we have a futon in his room and some early mornings I just curl up on it with him so I can doze while he nurses.

4 months and LO is still in our room. I always heard the recommendation was 6 months. We also have a 1 bedroom apartment, so he'll be in there until we decide to move or convert the office.

@runsyellowlites: Yeah, we are going on 13 months of co-sleeping & co-bedding. I actually tried to move LO to her bed in our room (we took the rails off of her crib since it's really low almost like a Montessori floor bed) but I couldn't. She wasn't ready and neither was I. She'll be in our room for a while.

15 months of cosleeping with DS2. Don't plan to move him to his room anytime soon. And DS1, almost 4, gets in our bed whenever he wants (a lot). We are very pro-cosleeping though so it doesn't bother us a bit.

DS1 does say he's going to stop cosleeping when he turns 4 though because he'll be a big boy then. :P

4 months, keeping him in the swing in our room was for my sanity. I had to go back to work and any sleep was a win in our world! :) Our doctor also said he should transition to his own room/crib and my response was "Okay, you can pay our bills and I'll stay home" haha...I was sleep deprived. luckily he knew I was joking!

Four months and she's still with us in a cosleeper. We co-bedded until she was 10 weeks when she dropped her night feed. I can't say when she'll move to her own room - I don't want her to move yet. She's a quiet sleeper so she doesn't wake us up and it doesn't seem that we wake her either.

Going on 13 months of co-sleeping & co-bedding. We actually have P's crib set up like a sidecar (just done recently) & we're all getting even better sleep than we were! We have different views on infant sleep than a lot of ladies here though.... I don't know when we'll transition her out. She sleeps fine by herself & we haven't had any issues with her falling asleep for others so we haven't felt there's any reason to change our setup.

ETA: Because it was brought up I thought I'd share a recent article I read on bed-sharing. Very interesting & I think as the "kind of" bed sharing starts to get separated in study rather than all lumped together we will see some changes in the recommendation *against* bed sharing. Maybe not to recommending it but at least not demonizing it. :)

We moved LO at 7 months as Australia recommends co-sleeping (not co-bedding) until 6 months and that's what we were comfortable with. She STTN quite early on so we didn't notice her sleep improving, nor ours as we both slept quite well with her in there. Other aspects of our bedroom life definitely improved though once LO was in her own room! ;-)

Just did it right before the 8 week mark unintentionally! We had a rough night w/ witching hour and when she finally went down I jus put her in the crib so I could get some rest. She STTN there so we've been continuing it (on our 4th night now!). I still stare at the monitors (both the video and the angelcare) at every little spud though!

At our 2 month check up appt our Dr. recommended that we move our son to his own crib in his own room. Currently he is sleeping in a cradle in our room. He has been sleeping from about 9pm-3am feeding and then usually is up in two hr intervals after that until about 8 am.

When did you move baby from your room to their own room? Did it help them sleep for longer intervals or through the night?
