It had slowed down at 2 weeks, but then I went to the hospital to attend the breastfeeding group there, and all of a sudden blood started gushing out, I soaked through my pad and my jeans in less than a minute. I thought I was hemorraging! There was blood everywhere! Luckily, I was already in the hospital so the nurses grabbed me and checked me out. They said that it wasn't a hemorrhage because it stopped after a few minutes and it was probably a major letdown by my uterus caused by a hormone surge being near so many crying and breastfeeding babies. It was so scary! They had to give me scrubs, mesh undies, and a giant hospital pad to wear home since my stuff was unwearable. My LO just turned 4 weeks old and my bleeding finally paled at the beginning of the week. The first week and a half was so heavy that I gave up wearing pads and just wore adult diapers. I didn't have to worry so much about leaking and it helped with the incontinence. Sorry for the TMI but lesson learned. Then for the next 5 weeks or so I bled on and off. I think when I overworked myself I would bleed. But I think it went away completely after week 6. </p>
