I feel you. 8 weeks and the aversions are worse than the actual nausea. Not eating makes me feel worse. Then force-eating and being near foods makes things doubly worse. I am just hoping this time passes quickly. :(

I magically started feeling better around 10 weeks with my first pregnancy. All the symptoms vanished overnight. Hoping it will be that drastic again but I hear all pregnancies are different. I know it can be much worse though. I've had friends who have thrown up 6 months straight, literally every single day. I can't fathom!

@DesertDreams88: Not really related to morning sickness, but I developed a sudden aversion to coffee (my favorite!!!) the day I turned 6 weeks and the aversion is still going strong at 16 weeks 4 days ... I keep trying hoping its gone away. Haha but not yet ...

I didn't have nausea but strong food aversions from about 8 weeks to 13-14ish weeks. Hang in there!

With C most of them went away into the second trimester, but some things stuck around until after delivery. Luckily I could eat veggies again after 14 weeks, but it actually took until months after delivery to want Indian food, which I usually love. Pretty much anything spicy was out until after she was born.

I had nausea and food aversion until the moment after he was born. I lost about 40 lbs over the course of the pregnancy from it. But the majority of people I have talked to said it drastically went down in the second trimester, so there's hope! :P

I had a number of food aversions, but the worst was any type of meat. We went to Turkey at 20 weeks, which would have been great, except you try to find a vegetarian meal in Istanbul! The food aversions went away by 24 weeks, right after we got back. Figures!

Last time, I was still throwing up until 20 weeks but didn't really have food aversions much past the first trimester. I never liked the idea of fish though.

Most of mine dropped by 16 weeks. There are still two lingering ones. One is hummus, which I can be around and watch other people eat but cannot stomach it myself. Up until 22 weeks I couldn't even hear the word without getting nauseated. Second is pinto and black beans. No sign of that one letting up and I'll be 31 weeks tomorrow. I had a ton of food aversions, so only having two now is fine by me!

Some aversions lasted until after the birth, but I mostly had my appetite back in the 2nd trimester. Funny too, some things I was really into during my pregnancy I've had no interest in since giving birth (not an aversion, just no desire).

My one food aversion - fesh veggies - lasted until after I delivered. Canned and frozen were fine but I could not stand anything fresh. I think a lot of it is texture issues so hopefully once you get past the morning sickness things will seem appealing again.

Some aversions left around the mid way mark, but I still have some at 35 weeks. I remember last time I couldn't face garlic until my daughter was about six months old!

I was nauseous and sick well into the second tri and nearly the third, but the food aversions got better around 11 weeks. At that point I could stomach the sight/thought of food. Shortly after I could eat some of it.

I had two food aversions during pregnancy. I'm not 5 months PP and one aversion is still going strong. The other gradually tapered off after I had DD.

With my first it lasted until after he was born. My diet basically subsisted of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches...even the thought of trying most other things made me gag.

I'm 11.5w with my second and my appetite started coming back last week. I had a cup of coffee and runny eggs for the first time this morning. Weeks 5-10 I pretty much just ate chicken noodle soup.

I had strong aversions to most food groups until twelve weeks. I lived on carbs and fruit. There are still some things that I don't like that I usually love, like seafood. But the thought of it doesn't make me feel nauseous anymore.

I had a few things that I just didn't eat while pregnant, but as the nausea was less intense I was able to eat a bigger variety of foods. 1st trimester was all about survival! It will be ok!!

I'm 7w4d today, and my mild nausea started about a week ago.... I've only thrown up once but that was when trying to swallow a big DHA pill late at night. My nausea is tamed pretty well through ginger gum, ginger ale, distraction, and coughing / burping (gross I know but true!!).

But the REAL issue for me is all the food aversions! Sitting here thinking about certain foods (ones I normally love) is making my stomach absolutely churn. Thinking about those foods just makes my nausea increase hundredfold to the verge of almost throwing up.

I know nausea is **supposed to** drop off sometime during the 2nd trimester, but do the food aversions stop, too? I already have such a limited diet, I'm now down to about 5 foods not including junk food...
