I would try for a few minutes. Our nurse at the hospital said BF babies don't always burp.

I just try for a minute or two. I usually don't get one after breastfeeding. She has more after she has a bottle when we're out or when I'm at work!

My LO was always a good burper, I would just have to lift her up and I'd get a good burp. I had a good friend tell me that she'll let me know if she has to burp. I think if your LO is uncomfortable and has a gas bubble, she'd let you know.

I never burped my breast fed baby. It was never an issue. I'd not stress it if whatever you're doing is working.

Usually a few minutes. Then I might put him down, or feed him again, and try to burp him again a little later. A lot of the time, changing the position in which I'm burping him helps too.

LO is just over 2 weeks old and 80% of the time, she doesn't burp after breastfeeding. When she does, its usually within the first couple minutes if burping. I never know when to stop trying to get a burp though. How long do you burp your baby for before you give up?
