@mrs. tictactoe: The afterschool program accepts kids as early as 7 am, which a lot of parents that work on Wall Street do!

I used to think that everyone was late for work but now I think that most of the parents who stay are SAH parents, with some WAH parents thrown in there!

Wow! School starts here before 8. I wouldn't get to work till 930 if that was our schedule.

I get in and out fast. She is dropped off so early, usually first one in the building, so she isn't with her normal teacher.

All the parents stay? @mrbee: I can't imagine how that works with work schedules.

We don't linger, but he used to be totally fine and now he's getting teary eyed at drop off, so we might change our ways.

@mrbee: Fair point. Mine's in daycare, not school. He'll go to school from daycare, though, too.

I don't stick around, I either have to be in the office by 9 or on a conference call. I think that's pretty disrespectful of people's time.

DH does dropoff for both kids. He'll stay a while, watch/help LO eat breakfast, chat with other parents and the teachers. They ask for parents to stay around 10 minutes for both dropoff and pickup (though some kids do better with very quick routines; they are ok with that, too). He gets to work around 9:15, lol.

ETA: my kiddos are in daycare, though, not K :)

@HLK208: I think only parents of Kindergarteners are allowed in and asked to hang out for a bit... will have to double check that!

Whoa! B's school won't even let us walk him in unless we fill out a volunteer form, sign in, and wear a sticker.

Um, that already IS late for work for me. I drop D off around 7:30, and usually stick around for about a minute. He goes over to the window to wave goodbye to me as I walk out of the building.

During dropoff for Kindergarten, the teacher asks that we stay for 10 minutes and help the kids with some worksheets. It's a pretty smart way to get 26 helpers to get the kids transitioned into the day!

Kind of amazed though that they ask this of parents from 8:30 - 8:45 am. It must make so many parents late for work!
