We've just recently started waiting 3-5 minutes before going in and 99% of the time DD falls back asleep on her own after fussing for a minute or two. She's 5 months now and mostly out of her sleep regression but still waking 3-4 times a night.

DD doesn't cry much anymore, but when she used to, we'd wait 20 mins before going in. I guess we're mean.

For DD1 I would wait 5 to 10 minutes. With DD2, she doesn't really get calmer but she rarely ever needs me, even when sick, so I don't mind rushing in when she summons me lol

He never cries once asleep, so if he did, one of us would be going immediately.

@maddyz: I think some are just like that! My older was the same way. And neither of them have been much of fussers. If they wake, it is immediately full on screaming.

DD is almost 3 and I usually wait 5-10 minutes unless she is screaming her head off (which usually means she has fallen out of bed). When she was littler I would go in after 2-3 minutes and gradually stretched it out longer.

We cosleep so I could only ignore her for like 2 minutes max. That's when she was younger though! Now she rarely needs me unless she is sick or going through something

We also go in pretty quickly, sometimes he calms himself but if he's really crying it just gets harder the longer we wait. He's always been like that.

I guess I should clarify that if he just fusses for a second or two and stops we don't run in there. But waiting 3 minutes or 10 minutes doesn't help because he gets so worked up.

We had been going right in, but now I try to wait 3-5 minutes unless it's around the time when he usually nurses or if he's hysterical. He's 10 months old

We tend to go in and get DS when he's crying at night pretty quickly because he doesn't ever get calmer. He tends to get more and more worked up rather than fussing and going back to sleep. Especially since he can stand up now. Do you wait or go right in?
