Now, at 4.5 months, I pick him up or don't pick him up depending on the cry/why he's crying. Ex. Her cries escalate almost every time, so I end up picking her up. If it stayed constant I'd be torn... but usually it would just quiet down and he'd fall asleep.</p> <p>After sleep training we almost never went to him. He's great at falling back asleep now. I just know that once her cry reaches a certain tone and/or volume, she is on her way to a point of no return anyway, so that's when I get her. Sometimes when I put him down to nap/sleep, he'll start to fuss after a minute or two later. When he was first born, I would immediately pick him up and rock him/see what's wrong. But now, I tend to wait a little bit (depending on the intensity of the fuss/cry) before picking him up because sometimes it's just a little bit of "wahh wahhh" and then he goes back to sleep. How long do you wait before picking up your baby? Is there a recommended time? </p>
