Up until last night, it took an hour to get him to fall asleep. I made myself busy last night after I put him to bed so I wouldn't go in his room to soothe, and he fell asleep within 10 minutes.

Initially we had a routine worked out that went like this: between 7 and 8, put him down when he looked sleepy. He'd be out in 5 minutes.
Now it looks like this: pray. He may be asleep in an hour and a half... or maybe not.
The routine is simple: diaper change, PJs, nurse, crib. That part takes 20-30 minutes.

charlie's routine was exactly 30 minutes until he was 2. now that he's older, it definitely takes longer -- usually an hour. he takes a longer bath, we read more books (and longer books!) and he is just a little chatterbox. Olive usually takes 30 min.

We start bath time at 6:30 and she's asleep in her crib by 7 or earlier. She's 5 months old--we started the routine at 6 weeks old and it took a few weeks for her to get used to it (and many 2 hour walking/ rocking sessions). Now we just put her down drowsy, but awake, and she's out within about 30 seconds! Never once have had to CIO, which was my goal.

It takes my husband about 30-40 minutes to get my 3-year-old down for the night which includes a shower, a book or two, and a few songs. It takes me about an hour to put my 5-month-old down for the night which includes a bath and nursing. He's been going down totally tired; but occasionally will put up a little fuss before settling down.

E is 12 weeks and gets a bath about 30 min long, changed into PJ's, and has a bottle. Sometimes she falls asleep for the night while drinking the bottle; usually she finishes her bottle and sits in her papasan chair while we eat dinner and then I pick her up and rock her and she's out in a few minutes.

Fingers crossed this continues!!

Forever, but probably about an hour. I get her swaddled and nurse her. I will think she is asleep enough to put down, but alas she will wake up as soon as I start to move and somehow latch on again. It is shorter than it used to be though! She will be 4 months on the 7th.

I'm right there with you, and our LO is 5 months. It takes about 30min-1 hr from start of routine until sleep time, but it usually takes a few tries of laying her down before she actually stays asleep. So about an hour total. And that's an improvement.

DS's whole routine takes maybe 30 minutes tops, and he's 5 months. That's from the start of his bathtime until I put him down in his crib, still partly awake.

DD used to take forever, though. When she was a newborn, it literally took hours every night. Actually she still takes a while. Her whole betime routine takes about an hour, but even after we leave her room she talks/sings/plays for up to another 30 minutes before quieting down for sleep!
