It's so much better now that she's faster. She's always taken both breasts though. But I do remember the days he would take up to 40 minutes to nurse ONE side. I never unlatched him unless he fell asleep.At her age it sounds pretty normal, though I never had my baby cry. Her change in behavior could be due to a growth spurt, which is common at 2-3 weeks. </p> <p>My almost 6 week old has always been a fast nurser. Never more than 20 minutes from the get-go. Since my milk came in the usual length is 8-10 minutes, and always only on one side. The past few days she's been nursing for quite a bit longer, and sometimes on both sides. At that point she usually stops swallowing and just uses me as a paci, which she could do all day if i let her. She usually screams and cries when we are done feeding though so I wonder if she's still hungry. She's gaining weight well so I know shes healthy.
