With the fever and rash, it does sound like roseola. Did she have a runny nose? That may be the source of the cough?

Our guy had a fever for 3 days (102.something) that just wouldn't kick, so we took him in. The pedi said roseola if a rash came or just a virus if not. He started feeling better, but I would have taken him back if I felt like something else was wrong.

Do you think you could last the weekend if she doesn't start feeling better? If not (or if you hate urgent care like I do), you might want to do a visit today to check out the cough.

I would take her back. If you are off of work anyways and its Friday, try to get in before the weekend.

@regberadaisy: the cough started after her visit. He listened to her lungs (though her "you're a stranger, get away" screams), looked at her ears, eyes and throat. All looked good.

I would take her in after 5 days. My DS also had a fever and congestion at the beginnin gof this week. His fever broke yesterday and a rash appeared last night so I'm pretty sure it's roseola. If he was still feverish today, or if I didn't know what the rash was, I would've taken him in today. I usually make an appointment between 3-5 days, depending on how sick they really are.

I have learned from M's recent bout with pneumonia that NO ONE knows our babies like WE do! Not even the pediatrician.

Did your ped listen to her chest? What did they say? Did the phlegmy cough start after or before her visit?

M had a fever for 3 days at the beginning of this week. She broke into a rash on Wednesday, it was more pronounced on Thursday and it's still there today. Now she is showing signs of a loose, phlegmy cough. She's only happy if someone is holding her - while standing. Even then she gets cranky. I feel so bad for her and helpless because I really shouldn't take any time off work right now. Even still, I may take the afternoon off if I feel like we need to make a return visit to the pediatrician.

I really thought she would be feeling better by now so, I'm starting to worry. :(
