@lilyofthewest: great. That’s what I was looking for. So anything is possible.@MamaCate: I guess I don’t care enough to worry about it that much yet.

@youboots: you could also try charting your waking temp. It is cheaper than opks. It is more of a commitment than just kind of trying though. Just a thought...

Both the clinics I work at recommend stopping depo at least a year before ideal pregnancy timing. We also caution that it could happen when you're only a few days late on your depo, or, at the other extreme, that some people don't return to full fertility for up to 18mos after discontinuing.

Did you try an ovulation predictor kit to confirm that you're ovulating? I used them after I had stopped BCP.

@MamaCate: thanks!@BadgerMom: not yet. I think I will go that route after I’ve been off depo for a year. I think we will just DTD every 2-3 days and see what happens for a few months first.

@youboots: Sorry no personal experience with depo, but I would think if you're ovulating, you can get pregnant. However, I wouldn't trust just ovulation pains to confirm ovulation. Have you tried temping/OPKs to see if you're truly ovulating?

@youboots: anecdotal but I have a friend who got pregnant almost immediately after she stopped drop. I don’t remember the details but I know it was surprisingly fast so it is possible....good luck!

I've never been on depo, but when I have read up on how long it took after Nexplanon (the BC I was on) I noticed Depo takes 3-12 months on average... But I have no personal experience, just a lot of anecdotal research.

And my OB recommended against it if it was for use between pregnancies.

DH and I are officially TTC baby #2 soon/kind of did last month. I was on depo for about 1 1/2 years- my last shot was November 17. No BC since. I was on and off depo for 10 years before having DD in March 15. But it was over a year that I was off when she was conceived.

I’ve had ovulation pains in May and June but did not feel anything in July. Anyways I’m finding conflicting information about how long it takes to get pregnant after getting off depo. If I’m ovulating can I get pregnant even within a year of getting off depo?

If you TTC within a year of getting off depo how many months did it take?
