Checked at 4p, 7cm. Checked at 6p, 7cm. Pushing started around 9p, baby out just before 11p. No drugs or interventions, but the midwife was convinced I'd need to transfer for a c-section until she heard the involuntary pushing start. So all told, it took about 7 hours to get from 7cm to baby.

@pelikila: OMG me too. A little extra time would have been nicer for things to stretch out a little bit...

I'm really not sure because I labored over night - I was a 6 around 2 am and then didn't get checked for a few hours because my midwife thought I was sleeping - yeah right! At 5 I told my nurse I felt the urge to push and was checked at just before 6 and was fully dilated. DS was born 15 mins later.

Over 10 hrs with my first, less than an hour with my second! With my first it was a miracle I didn't end up in a c sec. 3 hrs of pushing and he never even crowned. They did have to use the vacuum and basically pull him out of me.

I arrived at the hospital at 5cm, my water broke spontaneously about 30 minutes after arrival, which put my dilation at an 8 immediately. About 45 min later I was fully dilated but we waited for an hour or so before pushing because the baby was posterior and needed to turn. Once she was turned I pushed for roughly an hour. So I voted 3 hours, since that is about the amount of time that elapsed between my water breaking and LOs birth.

I think like 7 hours. I got an epidural after a couple hours after a couple hours hanging around 7 cm so that could have have slowed things.
It's the part that I feel most misled from reading stuff pre-labor. Who knew transition cold be sooo long! I only pushed 3 times though and baby was out so most of it was just waiting to get to 10.

in one hour I jumped from 5cm to 10cm, and delivered him 44 minutes later. So I said less than an hour.

I was in transition for less than an hour, and then pushing took 40 minutes, so DD was born less than 2 hours after I reached 7 cm. Stupid doctor thought it was going to take way longer, so I accepted an epidural at 7 cm, only to find myself pushing 30 minutes after receiving the epidural.

I didn't get checked until I was at 9. My labor went super fast and I had LO out in 3 pushes, so maybe 15 minutes?

I was at 7cm when I got my epidural, an hour and a half later I was fully dilated. But then I labored down for about an hour and a half and pushed for just under three hours. So around 6 hours total from 7cm to having the baby.

I was at a 6 when I was checked and my son was born less than 45 minutes later. I had a very fast labor so I'll be interested to see other responses to the poll.

I am working through something as a step in therapy and getting comfortable with the fact that I had a c-section after labor and didn't get to push the baby out after all that.

How long were you in that last "faster" part of labor? After 7cm, how long was it until your baby was born? (Transition and pushing)

For me it was over 10 hours.
