Despite my best efforts (birthing ball, tub, massage/pressure points, visualization/calming stuff) my body was really fighting the contractions. Didn't work very well either time, but not at all past about 30 minutes, the second time, and I felt transitioning from a 6 to a 10cm in 45 minutes, with pitocin, without being able to move around. I had been asking for it and the anesthesiologist was in a c section so I couldn't get it right away(they told me 20 min). I was in labor for about 2 hours total and asked for it about 1.5 hours in. when the doctor finally came in to give it to me, I was already pushing.
