@winniebee: For K it seemed like it was about two weeks from letting go and staying balanced to taking a few steps to full on walking.

For both of mine it was about 2ish weeks from taking 2-3+ steps before lunging/falling to full-on walking (or trying!) more than half the time. It's so funny to watch the progression and literally see them get stronger/better everyday!

@winniebee: it's hard in a way since there's never been one really big moment instead it's been much more gradual.

@Miss Ariel: I definitely am counting as "first steps" - he did it deliberately for the first time a few weeks ago too but I won't call him walking until he's more steady and more than a few steps!

K has been doing the lunging steps for about two weeks now. I haven't written it down in her baby book yet though since I don't feel like it actually counts yet.

C took her first (clumsy) steps at 7.5 months and was exclusively walking at 9. L did the same clumsy steps for about a month and a half before walking full time at 10.5 months.

Huh! I totally called that walking. :)
In other words, I never noticed when it was more steady/ more steps in terms of remembering it as a milestone

R has been letting go of furniture and taking some lunging steps towards us for maybe 5 days, standing a little on his own too (before he realizes he's doing it!) and seems very excited by it! I'm wondering how long it will be before he's actually walking. He'll be 1 in a little over a week.

Our first son never took steps. He waited until he could fully walk, and just started walking at 14 months. It was bizarre!
