About 2 days. I was 36w5days and induced because of pre-e... so my body wasn't ready to be giving birth.

Admitted around 11am Tuesday, cervadil started late afternoon and continued until following afternoon. Pitocin started Wednesday afternoon, water broke on it's own that evening, baby born at 11:55am Thursday.

And my mother-in-law (who never calls) called every couple hours. I almost broke my husband's cell phone.

Right about 30 hours for me. Water broke at 6pm on Friday, Cervidil started around 8am on Saturday, 3 (4?) doses later... Active labor kicked in at 9am on Sunday and he was born four hours later at 1pm.

I was also "induced" starting at 9pm or so. But that was just cervidil. And it didn't do ANYTHING.

So they started pitocin at 7:30am and broke my water at 8am. Birth was at 8:42pm. So about 13 hours is what I consider it because cervidil was basically worthless

I was 2mm dialated before my induction, so I didn't need cervadil. They broke my water at 9:15am and my induction (pitocin) started at around 10am on the 30th

I gave birth to Lorelei at 12:31 am on the 31st.

So approx 14 hours.

@mrs. tictactoe: wow....I was feeling bad about 30 hours of contracting and then a c-section! You poor thing! Mine technically wasn't an induction as my water was leaking which is why they had to admit me, but nothing else was going on so there was a lot of medical "augmentation" involved and then a rush CS after fetal distress. Are you planning a RCS for your second, or a VBAC?

At my hospital they have you come in the evening and start cervical ripening with cervidil or Foley catheter. At 7am they check you and start you on pitocin. They foley kicked me into labor at 2am and at 10pm we decided I was falling to progress and had a c-section.

LO2: they broke my water, and I was holding her 5 hours later. (They did add some pitocin about halfway through.) I pushed for 10 minutes.

I went from like zero (a "generous" 1cm at 41 weeks 3 days ugh) to baby in 18 hours. I think a lot of induction depends on where you are in your pregnancy! I had to start with misoprostol at 9pm and got pitocin around 11am when things slowed, baby at 250pm :)

I went into labor naturally with both my kids but with DS my contractions completely stopped and I had nothing. My water had naturally broke so they induced me so I wouldn't have to just sit there until my labor decided to start again. Pitocin started at noon. Had DS at 5:17pm

A little over 36 hours. Ended in emergency c-section. I should note that I was induced because the baby's heart rate had low variability, so it was a cold start without any contractions. I had the maximum dosage of pitocin, followed by cervadil overnight, then pitocin the next day. Dilated to 4 cm maximum. They broke my water a few hours before the c/s...I can't remember when exactly, but it did nothing for me.

Went in at 5pm, Cervidil in just before 7pm, pit started the next morning and water broke by MD. Pit went until laaate that night when they found baby wasn't responding well so they shut it off. Nothing else happened so I had a c-section at 10am on day 3 (Halloween!). About 39 hours and only stopped then due to intervention.
