It was definitely aided by the fact that LO2 (apart from the fact that he is a terrible sleeper and always has been) has been an insanely easy baby- I've never really been unable to calm him (seriously, even as a newborn, my boobs fixed all of his problems in life instantly). It was a little crazy, and I'm kind of glad that my hormones are normalizing now. I needed J to take a bottle, and wanted to build a good stash! Dealing with a bottle strike with N was not fun. I didn't have any REAL issues besides getting him to latch correctly, but it was a miserable experience those first many weeks. After 6 weeks when breastfeeding got easily, that was when I really started to bond with Xander. But that may have also been when he started smiling and interacting more, so I'm not sure if maybe that had something to do with my bonding with him then!</p> <p>I'm so curious how things go with #2. I've heard that in general, breastfeeding is usually easier the second time around, so I'm just hoping I can bond faster/more easily with #2. I really feel like it had to do with my breastfeeding experience with each - with N, she latched right away and was an excellent nurser. With J, I had oversupply issues and he would latch/delatch and sputter and cry bloody murder every few minutes. I loved her from the moment I saw her but I was consumed with anxiety in those early days, I dreaded every little peep she made. Which really surprised me bc I thought it would take a while to feel like she was mine or feel that love. Especially bc I had a c section.
