I actually had to leave early because I had to sing at Church. Luckily, they still let DH drive the car home and bring the last bit of paperwork back for me to sign. But we also didn't think we would be buying a car that day. </p> <p>DH's truck- he actually went through a broker. It was all taken care of through the phone/email (over 2 or 3 weeks) and when we went to pick it up all we had to do was sign the paper work. We were there for maybe 15 minutes? Best process ever! We went to the dealer with the intention of just test driving a few vehicles. Two hours later we were the proud owners of a truck. It look that long because we had to test drive it, look over the number, and get financing. Thankfully the dealer did everything right there on the spot. I think because you already have the financing worked out before hand it will take less than that. Got to the dealership around 3/4pm and didn't leave till close to midnight I swear. It was miserable.</p> <p>When we went to go buy my car 2 years ago, it only took us like an hour. It was awesome!!</p> <p>However, my friends went and bought a car from the same salesman at the same dealership a few weeks later and it took them like half a day also.</p> <p>I think the longest part is waiting for the financing department to get to you. Since you know what you want, is it necessary for you to go? DH bought his without me. Mine didn't take long because it had been prearranged over email. I told them what I wanted, knew someone in the business (so i was paying a "friends and family price"), they built the car, and all I had to do was come in, sign some shit, and hand over the money </p>
