Thanks everyone! I'm very new to this process, so reading these boards has been very helpful.

@eastcoaster: So depending on how long your luteal phase was, you might ovulate later. My first cycle off BCP, I O'd CD 17 and my luteal phase was only 10 days (making for a 27 day cycle). After that, my luteal phase got a little longer (thank goodness), but I think it's still regulating as each cycle has been one day longer than the one before.

It's possible you had a short(ish) luteal phase and O'd later in your cycle. If your luteal phase was only 10 days, then you would have O'd on CD 20 for example. Keep temping - you should eventually see it rise up (at least .2 degrees, but possibly higher) and if it stays consistently high for 3 consecutive days, you'll know you O'd. Good luck! :)

I was on the bcp for over 10 years so unfortunately i cant remember what my cycle was like before. But my first cycle off the pill was 30 days. I've only been taking my temp during this cycle so i cant see much of a pattern yet. Looks like i just need ti be patient! :)

For me, I O around CD 16, but I'm still regulating from going off BCP (Cycle 4 currently). Before I went on BCP, my cycles were around 33 days, so I'm expecting my cycles to continue to get longer until they get back to that. And I never saw EWCM until cycle 3 off BCP.

How long were your cycles prior to going on BCP? You may O later in your cycle than the "average." How long was your first cycle? That will give you an indication of when you might O (if it was a longer cycle, you probably O'd later). Are you tempting? That will be your best indicator to tell when you ovulate (although you'll only know AFTER the fact).

My first cycle was 44 days and I ovulated on CD 35. I'm now on the second cycle and I *think* I ovulated yesterday (CD 21), so my cycles are definitely regulating, but it just takes some time.

i O'd my first month off BC (i was using nuvaring). however, my cycles didn't really regulate to pre-BC cycles for 5 months so it does take a little bit. how long was your first cycle?

Just curious how long it's taken people to start ovulating after stopping bcp? Onto my 2nd cycle after bcp, but only 1st charting. Been temping and using OPK and no + or EWCM yet. Cycle day 17.
