@pastemoo: my LO doesn't sleep through the night either :( I haven't had a whole nights rest in 6 months :(

I think my body has gotten used to it though, maybe you will adjust? Does hubby help with night wake ups?

It definitely took me awhile to get our family into a morning routine with daycare and schedules. The first month was really hard with that and pumping. After while, it got easier. Like @yellowbird, I don't think that I'm meant to be a SAHM either. Going to work and getting into a routine felt better than maternity leave where I had to care for the baby 24/7 and be in a house that desperately needed to be clean, but I didn't have the time to.

I would say it took about 3 months before I started getting in a work groove. I still have hit and miss days though.

@T.H.O.U.: I don't really know. I just feel like I have too much going on, I guess. While I am at work it's fine but when I am home it is very stressful and I feel like I can't get everything done.

@yellowbird: I agree that being at work is a welcome relief from running around after baby. I think it's just that when I'm home I have less time to keep it together and DS still doesn't STTN and I'm just so tired.
I am still working on getting the routine down--that could be part of it.

I go back to work next week after a year off, and I'm already feeling the stress. DH has been great at helping me identify stressors so we can address them one at a time. Yesterday we came up with our new weekday schedule which includes him making breakfast for everyone, packing lunches in the morning and making sure dinner is prepped/defrosting before work. Knowing that I don't have to do all those things in addition to getting ready, getting LO ready and being out the door on time was a huge relief.

Can you pinpoint specifically what is bringing you down?

I was never a SAHM, but I took 10 weeks off for maternity leave. Transitioning back wasnt so hard for me because it honestly feels like a break compared to taking care of a baby all day long. I miss my LO, but I don't think I'm meant to be a SAHM.

What's making it so hard for you? Missing your little one, less time to get things done at home? It definitely took a few weeks to get a good routine down but now it's pretty easy day to day.

I'm sorry you feel this way, is there a reason you feel like you are going to have a nervous breakdown? Is it all the stress or business?

How long did it take you to transition to the working life again?

I feel really terrible because I am only working part time (24-30 hours/week) and still SAH Friday through Monday and I am just not feeling the work thing.

I never expected this. I am a dedicated hard worker but I feel like I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. Does it get easier? DS is 9 months old and I have been working for 5 weeks now.

Several of my real life friends have told me how hard it is to go back to work but they all seem like they're holding their sanity together well.
