We did it cold turkey as soon as DD turned one. I didn't want to continue spending the money on formula if I didn't have to. She liked the flavor of milk, so it was easy. I did keep doing a bottle of formula right before bedtime for a few weeks past one, and then I transitioned her first to a bottle of water instead (which she wasn't very interested in), and then to a sippy cup with water. Now going on 13 months she's completely off of formula and bottles. Hooray!

I found that very quickly DD started eating a lot more food and drinking plenty of cow's milk during the day to compensate.

I was going to base it off formula but I forgot to buy milk last week and now we have no formula so we have to buy more tonight!
She's been MSPI so I want to start drinking the milk first so she gets it indirectly. Then if she's OK give it to her directly next week.

we have been giving him formula/milk combo bottles for a month...but that's because we are trying to get rid of the formula. if he hadn't gotten sick a couple weeks ago, and refused milk, he would have been weaned in a week or so. once this can of formula is gone, it's gone!

We went cold turkey when LO turned one. The first day wasn't awesome, but by the second day she was a milk drinking pro.

DS didn't seem to mind going to milk and water, instead of formula. What he did mind was no more bottle. He's down to one bottle of formula a day, the rest is cow's milk and water in sippy cups. When I did try to get rid of that last bottle he FREAKED out, and it's first thing in the morning, so I succumbed and bought more formula.

It took us about a month to fully wean from formula to cow's milk only, but I think it really depends on your LO. Some kids love cow's milk, and some despise it, so it might take longer or shorter depending on her tastes.

How long did you take to wean off formula? I'm BFing plus supplementing with formula. My supply is tanking so currently she gets 1 bottle of bm + 3 bottles of formula + nursing.
Is taking one week to wean of formula to just cow's milk + BF too aggressive?
