Hey there-I got off BCP in August and had a withdrawal bleed immediately, and then got what I thought was a normal "period" 27 days later. My cycles over the past couple of months have varied between 28 days-34 days. I first noticed EWCM in about October, so I'm guessing there's a chance I didn't even ovulate the first month or two. It seems like at this point I'm back to normal, but we'll see how TTC goes! This is my first month trying. Good luck, and don't stress if it takes a few months to feel like you're back to normal!

First time I stopped BCP (to TTC #1), I had a withdrawal bleed immediately, ovulated, and then got AF 15 days later. This time (to TTC #2), I never had a withdrawal bleed, I didn't O until CD29, and I only had a 10-day LP. The next cycle was a bit closer to "normal" for me. It can take awhile for your body to regulate.

Mine was pretty normal from the start though the number of days in a cycle was slightly longer. Each month it decreased by about a day.

My first period after BCP was normal, even 1 day earlier. But my worry is that it can either stay regular from now on, or go totally bonkers! I totally understand how you feel!

Maybe you can start charting anyway to see if you might O anyway?

Thank you PSW27! I appreciate the worrier understanding :) I'm so ready to go with charting, trying, tracking, following all the good advice I've seen on here that I just want my body to start things up already!

I guess if doc is okay with it I wouldn't worry too much.. but I am a worrier so I would anyway. Hope AF shows up soon so you can get to charting!

Yes - never got it at the end of the last pack which I definitely find strange. Dr said all seemed fine, but still odd. I am going to chart as soon as things start up again. I had a non hormonal IUD for a few years before going back on BCP for about a year and when on IUD I "charted" to know my cycle length and it was always a regular 29 days. I probably just have to be patient, but I feel a bit concerned that something's off..

for me, the first cycle post-BCP was probably 42 days to get AF. From there, I had fairly irregular cycles for about 10-11 months. I don't know if you chart, but I think that is a helpful thing to start so you can learn if you are ovulating, how long your LP is, etc.

But you are saying you never got AF at the end of your normal pack of BCP? That seems strange if you usually got the light BCP kind of AF on it...

It's different for everyone. It can take a few months before the effects of BCP wear off.

For me, it took 4 months before I got to my body's "normal".

Hi wise ladies - I went off BCP during the first week of January, at the end of the pack, and no AF at that time (which was totally strange, normally had a light period while on BCP at least!). Fast forward nearly a month, and still no AF. I know it often takes a while to kick start things when you stop the pill but I'm impatient. I'm wondering anecdotally how long it took for any of you that stopped BCP to have a regular cycle? Also, I know I'm not pregnant, because I took a HPT (crazy, I know) and had my annual appointment a few days ago where she confirmed it. Thanks so much for any advice!!
