I was at 4, I think, when I got to the hospital around 3:30 am. Got checked in, labored, in and out of the tub, then at one point I asked about an epidural. They checked me and told me I was at 9 and in transition, at which point I said screw the epidural (not in so many words). Had C at 7:16. So, my time line is pretty fuzzy but it don't think it could have been more than an hour. I started pushing at least 7 hours after that. (My water wasn't broken, so that's why I was told things could e moving so slowly, and they were trying to flip LO.) I got checked at 10pm and I was at 8cm. Around 11pm I got incredibly cold, and incredibly thirsty, and I was shaking uncontrollably and then threw up. I ended up with a c section at 4am due to my cervix starting to swell shut, not progressing, (my) spiking a fever, and my LO's heart rate going wonky. So who knows how long it would've taken if I'd waited it out (if ever... turns out my LO was sunny side up and crooked and stuck in my pelvis. All I can say is thank goodness I didn't read enough about labor to know what was going on and even more thank goodness for the meds! </p>
