She was doing 5-6 hours then a ten minute feed and back down for 4ish hours. At seven weeks she started stretching out her first sleep to 6-7 hours. At ten weeks 8-9. Then 12 straight at 12 weeks. By 6-7 weeks, he dropped his one night feeding and was sleeping all night (11-12 hours). BUT - we only formula fed. She slept for a four hour stretch once at 3 weeks (I remember because it was Christmas and it was a much loved gift, ha), but other than that it was every 2 hours. It didn't matter how much she ate during the day. She started doing a more predictable 3-4 hour stretch at around 4 months, but she didn't do any better than that without sleep training at almost 6 months. She now gets up once or twice. At seven weeks we're up to 8 hours. I think we have been blessed with a good sleeper, but we've also seen good progress since we instituted a bed time routine: cluster feed all evening, bath, massage, book, a short nursing session followed by a bottle of pumped milk then bed. Xander was able to go every 3 hours between feeding when he was 5 weeks old, but from about 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., I was feeding him every hour or so, so he was tanking up for the night. But then it all went to crap at 4 months! So I paid for the first few weeks of good sleep :) it is super super normal for them to eat that often tho...there are a million growth apurts that happen early on and your supply is still getting regulated. Don't despair! Still eating every 2 hours at night, though can go longer during the day. She's 8 lb 11 oz now. We had a few days of 3-4 hrs and now we are back here.
